Gardman A04246 Flip Top Suet Feeder Bird, Multi-Colour, 350 g

Excellent flat block feeder - it's well-made and sturdy. The best thing about it for me is the flip top lid. It's so easy to open and close, so it's very easy to refill and to clean (I find so many other types of fat block feeders too fiddly and can't easily get them open/closed) This lid overhangs the edges of the feeder a bit, so also acts as a bit of an umbrella in wet weather, protecting the food from getting too wet. It will hold one standard fat block, with a bit of room left over. So, when I get towards the end of the block and there's just a strip left, which can be difficult for the birds to get to, I add a new block to the remaining strip and then it can all get eaten. The birds seem to like it and use it with no problems. I've had blue tits, finches, sparrows, starlings and black birds use it. The pigeons either don't like it or can't really use it. I don't have squirrels in my garden so can't comment on whether the feeder is squirrel proof. It's great and I'm going to buy a second one.

A well made and sturdy feeder for the smaller wild birds. Not so easy for Magpies to empty it either :)

Great bird feeder that comes apart easily for cleaning purposes. Sturdy metal lid keeps the rain off. Birds took to it straightaway. Only reason I’ve given it four stars is because the little metal perches around the bottom edge don’t stay down. They are easily knocked out of position by the bigger birds. Holds a lot of food. On the whole, a great purchase.

I paid £5 for simple fatball feeder. Happy with the quality and value for money. Fits 3 fatballs nicely. I don't have squirrels in my garden so can't comment on how squirrel proof it is, but I imagine not very 😅

This comes fully assembled and is sturdy. The good stuff. This is really solid and certainly squirrel proof. I had 4 of the little darlings in the garden one day and decided enough was enough and bought this. This may seem a tad cruel, but it was to my sense of humour fun, watching my furry friends trying to get into the new feeder. Squirrels get grumpy, very quickly it would appear. Then they start falling out with one another and chasing their chums up and done the feeder post ( I have a 8 foot high 4 inch by 4 inch post with hanging basket brackets attached on the edge of the patio for bird feeding, we are a tad excessive!) then a few laps of the patio before running off to continue the debate (fight) in the oak tree at the bottom of the garden. Pay back!! The not brilliant bit. The feeder comes with a lid that opens easily to allow feeding. However the whole of the top does come off also to allow for cleaning I assume. But if you get the right conditions and an over energetic squirrel it can cause the top and the cage to come undone. Resulting in the whole thing falling apart and depositing the contents on the floor. Only happened the once I really checked the mechanism each time I filled up. But be careful. The really horrible bit. If you are of a nervous disposition stop reading this review. The following is not the fault of the feeder or the maker but you need to bear it in mind. The feeder is great at keeping squirrels out. But it is a cage and can act as a trap. We unfortunately have a sparrowhawk that visits. It has always been infrequent. However one turning up the other day there was a great tit on the feeder and it lost a vital second clearing the bars of the feeder and that was it caught. Since then the sparrowhawk is noticeably more regular in its visits and has caught a second great tit. Blue tits seem to escape the feeder with little problem but the great tits being that little larger have troubles. So with regret I am going back to the old feeder. This is not the fault of this item which does what it claims.

Bought one of these from local shop and plastic front broke after a few days. This one much stronger and easy to fill. Good buy

Es ist nicht alles gut bei dieser Station, aber unter dem Strich bin ich sehr zufrieden. Meine festgestellten Mankos: a) Mir ist die Station aus der Hand gefallen. Dabei sind mehrere Kunstoff-Elemente rausgefallen. Bei der "Reparatur" ging mir eines kaputt (es war kalt und meine Finger gefroren, also auch etwas meine Schuld). b) Ich nehme die Station mit in einen Stall und fülle sie dort auf. Dann fallen beim Befallen naturgemäß auch einige Kerne durch die Öffnungen. Es wäre schön, wenn die Station noch einen größeren Teller als Boden hätte. Positiv: Die Station wird super angenommen. Ich wohne am Waldrand und habe sehr viele Vögel, die sie anfliegen. Meist fliegen mehrere Meisen die Station parallel an, d.h. ich werde pro Tag ca. 1 Kg Sonnenblumenkerne los. Das ist zwar teuer, aber es macht auch viel Spass, dem Treiben zuzuschauen. Meine früheren Stationen waren immer gleich leer und hielten nicht mal einen Tag. Mit dieser Station habe ich wenigstens mal 2 volle Tage. Mein Verbesserungsvorschlag: Noch eine größere Station anbieten.

la photographie représente une grande boule grillagée qui est traversée en son centre par une chaine qui se termine par un crochet. dans ces conditions, j'aurais pu failement l'accrocher telle quelle. il s'avère que c'est une boule grillagée dont la chaine est accrochée de part et d'autre de ses bords,fromant une anse et sans crochet d'attache. Je suis juste incapable de l'accrocher ainsi, je n'avais rien prévu pour le faire. je vais devoir me débrouiller !
