It's like wiring up Christmas lights
Cheeseus Crust the wiring for this thing. And to think I even cheated and grabbed the basic two wire push buttons instead of the motion ones in the pack (see pics). The video left out a few aspects if the setup process to get the doors working in software, oh and the written instructions? forget about it. A over a decade in IT and BS in Cyber Security did not prepare me for muddling through this interface. With that said, it's working great now. Once I know where to go in software, adding 10 people, with an assistants help at a reader, took 3 mins. The materials are quality and seem sturdy. I wish the exit button's I got, although they look beautiful and fit on the door trim, had a better tactile feedback as they're kinda mushy when pressed. If it weren't for the door releasing thud, you wouldn't know if you had depressed it all the way. Physical installation of the components like the mag lock, buttons, and proxy reader were a breeze. The templates included ensured proper alignment and good contact. The buttons and proxy reader require a whole and two screws and are similar to installing a doorbell... with more wires. Pro tip of the day, don't use the wires coming out of the maglock, unscrew the cap and use the terminal blocks inside. That should ensure a secure connection and you shouldn't need the extra 6 inches of line it gives you. They should save a buck and just leave them off because their diagrams really aren't bad. I wish the instructions included scenario diagrams because you need a jumper to get the doors to open. It's in the video but I was using the basic buttons, not the motion ones, so it wasn't clear.
