I ordered one and used a razor knife to cut through the stitching and removed the id window. I do not need that many card slots. without the id window there are 8 card slots, the id window has an 4 additional card slots which when added to the wallet card slots = 12. Does one really want that many card slots, that would make the wallet very fat and perhaps not too comfortable to sit on. There are also a double dollar compartment in the back of the wallet. Lastly there is a slot on each side of the open wallet adding an additional 2 card slots. That would make 10 card slots in all, add the flip out id window and it is 14 card slots. How many credit cards would one want to carry? I carry 6 and think that is too many. Hope this fully explains this wallet. BTW, the wallet is very good looking and very durable as well as soft leather. But it, it is a very good product at a very good price. **Q: Does this wallet have space for putting cash?** A: Yes, When you open the Wallet it has two spaces in the back like any other wallet for money . I use the back space for my cash and you have a space for personal cards **Q: Do you have to do any care for the leather over time?** A: We do not recommend any protective treatment for our wallets other than to protect it from any abrasive chemicals or stains that can damage the surface.
