Vacuum Freeze Dried Durian Fruit - 3.5 Oz (Monthong Chunk) (1 Bag)

I love this durian. Here's how to prepare a chocolate durian mousse: Crush one of the four packages of durian and crush it. I put an airhole in the package it comes in and put it in a baggie and crush it with a rolling pin. You don't want to lose it by transferring it. Put it in a regular soup bowl. Add two teaspoons of powdered cacao (or cocoa which is not as healthy and a different taste). Combine by stirring. Add about 3/4 - 1 cup of heavy whipping cream. Yes, this is KETO sorta if it weren't for the durian. Mix well and the durian will soften (no more getting stuck in your teeth!) and absorb the cream and expand, so there are little mousse-ey air holes in it. This is the most delicious thing ever. Very fattening but worth it. You might be able to use coconut milk or something more healthy. I'm waiting for my next bag to try other things. Wetting it makes it like real durian! Definitely a full durian in the big red bag as there are four smaller bags inside - each about a group of pods worth each.

The flavor is horrible. My dog, who loves durian freeze dried and fresh, wouldn’t even eat it. I have ordered this product before and never had such issues. Please either replace with freshly not stale freeze dried durian or give refund

Trying durian had been on my bucket list for a while. I wanted to know if I was one of the chosen few who actually like the taste. I hesitantly tried my first bite, expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised that the taste was tolerable, if not slightly enjoyable. To me, it tasted like a garlicky plantain. I had to immediately brush, floss, and disinfect my mouth to try to get the aftertaste out of my mouth. But all in all, the experience went much better than expected. I gave half the package to a friend from the Philippines, and she gobbled it up like candy. She's a true durian snob, who doesn't even like frozen durian very much because it's not the real deal. But she liked these, so they must be pretty legit if a durian connoisseur like her gives them the thumbs up. Half the fun of this purchase was hearing the reactions of other people who sampled durian for the first time. It seems to taste a little different to each person depending on their palate. I brought these to work, and let anyone who wanted to try it to take a piece home. My favorite coworker described the taste as "like having puke in your mouth...no, worse yet, like having someone else's puke in your mouth." Since the dried fruit looks far less pungent than it actually is (it slightly resembles dried pineapple) I imagine it would work well for pranks if someone wanted to use it for evil. For a laugh, I imagine you could bury a few pieces within a fruit and nut mix and watch people's reactions from afar.

The package is completely different look, it came with two small pack inside. Some are sweet but some has not much taste.

I bought this for my husband for his birthday. He loves durian but the last time we were able to find it (frozen) was over 7 years ago. I've thought for years about trying to order him a fresh or frozen durian but the prices are astronomical (understandably) and it's out of season in Dec. I found this product and from the reviews this seemed like it might be an ok alternative to fresh/frozen, and certainly more affordable. Well he was floored when he got this. It was like watching an wine connoisseur. He opened the package and inhaled deeply and he savored the first bite and let it melt in his mouth. He was so impressed with the flavor and was thrilled to be able to share it with friends and family. It lasted him about a month and in his observation he said it looked like the bag contained about a whole durian. This was a fabulous alternative to fresh and frozen fruit, very affordable, it lasted him a long time, and retained the full durian flavor that he loves so much.

Can’t figure out what the fuss was all about!? It smells somewhat bad, but nowhere near skunk, not even at the same level. The taste is ok but compared to good Indian mangoes it’s plainly boring. Perhaps the fruit tastes a lot better when it’s fresh?

I love this stuff, ever since a friend of mine sent me some from Thailand I've been hooked. I've been buying this here on a regular basis because it's so good. It taste almost like citrus but very mild and distinct flavor that is delicious. The smell is fine, I've never smelled fresh durian, but i assume it smells like this stuff just more potent, i like the smell of this stuff. The seller i buy from is Maxim eBusiness Technology, they can deliver from USA so i don't have to wait a month for delivery, I get free 2 day delivery with amazon prime which is great.
