I didn’t know their were new burrs. You can upgrade for a charge I believe **Q: What's the difference between the notte and silenzio model?** A: They have the same dimensions and burr sets. The Silenzio has a timer, whereas the Notte only works “manually,” meaning it only grinds when you are pressing the button. But by FAR, the biggest difference is that the Silenzio is MUCH quieter, as it has lots of baffles inserted around the motor housing. If you have sleepers in the house while you are grinding, it is definitely worth the extra money. **Q: Can you add a larger hopper to the eureka mignon silenzio espresso grinder?** A: I don’t know if they sale a larger hopper but I’ve seen single dose hoppers sold on Etsy. Less beans in the hopper is better though for home use I would put the rest of your beans in an air tight container. **Q: Where is it made?** A: Made in Italy. An incredible, well-crafted machine, better than any other grinder I have ever used (I've had at least a half-dozen over the years). Worth every penny. I had a machine shop make a 5-sided box cover for the hopper to protect my coffee beans from the light, and cut a silicone stopper to the exact inside dimensions of the hopper to press down on thereby squeezing excess air out as the beans are used. The burr grinder is not ceramic, but I do not detect any significant heat build-up so I do not think that matters with this machine.
