AdBlue is a high purity urea solution in demineralized water, also known as AUS32 (Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5%), used in selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to reduce pollutant emissions from diesel engines, in particular nitrogen oxides (NOx), particularly harmful to people and the environment. The qualitative parameters that regulate the production of AdBlue are imposed by DIN 70070 and ISO 22241 standards. AdBlue, in addition to having a specific concentration of automotive grade urea, must comply with strict quality parameters that regulate the contents of metals, minerals and other elements that are potentially harmful to SCR system components, such as catalyst, pump and injectors.
