Unfortunately, my Tyme finally stopped working, and I didn't feel like paying $180 for a new one. I researched similar irons and came across the LANPRO. I tried it out for the first time yesterday. Here are my thoughts:Cons:- Does not work as quickly as the Tyme. I had to go much more slowly to smooth my hair out AND had to smooth out my wavy, somewhat frizzy hair before being able to start curling. With the Tyme, I could do it all in one step.- Does not hold the curl as long. This may be because the barrel is smaller than the Tyme...so the curls got a bit messy while I slept. My hair holds curl really well, so I may just need to practice more.- It gets a bit hot to the touch, so I felt like I was going to burn myself. Never felt this way with the Tyme (possibly b/c the barrel has more plastic).Pros:- For the couple of cons, this is worth the price! The lower price tag is very appealing, so it's worth the bit of extra time that the LANPRO takes.- It does create nice curls or waves, and it's slightly easier to use than the Tyme since you can curl in either direction.- It makes my hair feel extra soft!- It does not pull or snag at all.- I appreciate the multiple heat settings.Overall, I would highly recommend the LanPRO if you don't want to spend the money on a Tyme Iron. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ light and well made *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2018* I am loving this straightener! I've always been a Chi person but I'm headed over seas and hear they have a problem working in Europe. The Lanpro seriously works better and isn't as heavy - which is a big deal when you have tons of hair. Usually my hair starts to curl again the moment I step outside but since using this my hair will stay straight for days. I use it Chi Silk Infusion. It's better for curling, too, with the round barrel that gets warm. It's also worth mentioning the accessories are high quality. I never expect much from accessories but the clips actually can hold my super thick hair and the comb is solid. I don't really use heat gloves but I tried it out and it works. The iron felt warm but not hot. Accessories are in a beautiful felt bag. I love the look of the straightener. The digital display is a plus, and it heats up really fast.I am very pleased with the way the curls form.
