Safari Ltd. Forest Dragon Figurine - Detailed 6" Plastic Model Figure - Mythical Creature Toy for Boys, Girls & Kids Ages 4+

Safari Ltd really makes nice plastic figurines, I've seen them in many stores and have admired their quality and detail. This dragon is no exception! I bought this for my daughter for xmas as she loves dragons and is often quite choosy about how they look. I know she will adore this one. It's a really nicely detailed model with an expressive face and lovely scaling, and the paint job is exceptional. Nothing is misaligned or smudged or missed, and the shiny green paint looks fantastic. The dragon is a nice size, perfect for playing with or putting on a shelf to look at, it will be a fine addition to her Playmobil and LEGO menagerie, amongst other things. While not heavy, this casting is sturdy and I think it will last a long time without falling apart.

I am a huge dragon fanatic. I love collecting all sorts of dragon related items. So when I saw this, I knew I had to purchase it. Now when I first received the dragon, I found it to be a darker shade of green instead of the bright green color that the picture led me to believe. It was also a tad smaller than I expected, but that was not really a big deal. Moving on! The detail and design on this dragon is superb! From it's head all the way down to the tip of it's tail, it's just fantastic! This dragon also has beautiful golden eyes that I have never seen before on a figure. But, unfortunately, there is one flaw that sort of irks me. The company logo is printed largely on one of the dragon's wings. While it's not a crippling issue, you think they could have just put it on the underside of one of the dragon's feet instead. But either way this is an excellent purchase! If you like dragons just as much as I do, you will definitely love this item! Also. If you are intending to use it as a toy I think it's durable enough for that sort of thing. Just be gentle with the wings.

I've been looking for less-expensive miniatures to use in roleplaying games like Dungeons & Dragons. I decided to take a chance on this dragon figure to see how well-suited for the task it was. I was very pleasantly surprised by it when it arrived. Miniatures for roleplaying games are generally in the 1/72 or 25mm/28mm scales, and this dragon fits very well with figures of those dimensions. In comparison to a human-sized figure of those scales, it is impressively large, probably (in game terms) in the Huge size range. The sculpt is dynamic and ferocious. The paint job is really well-done; the green paint has a slightly iridescent quality to it, and the details are meticulously executed. The pose also makes it pretty stable. The only down side to the figure, and it's not much of one, is that the wings are very soft and flexible. This would only be a concern if the figure is given as a toy to a child, because the wings would likely not survive too much rough handling. Overall, this figure would fit in quite well in a RPG mini collection; in comparison to similar plastic miniatures designed specifically for those games, it is more affordable, and at least as well-made.

I purchased this for my sister-in-law for her birthday, and it was a huge hit. She collects dragons by his artist, so this was a logical choice to add to her collection. I was surprised at the amount of detail, especially considering the cost. The photo accurately reflects the actual color -- a gorgeous bright green w/ darker green highlights. The wings are sturdy and beautifully sculpted. The material is somewhat flexible, but not overly so. This is a quality item, with an amazing amount of detail in the scales, claws, face, and wings. This is extremely sturdy, and due to the flexibility of the casting material, could probably withstand the handling of a child, but it's pretty enough to put on display.

I purchsed this as a model for myself and not as a toy for a child, so this review is more detailed than might be otherwise needed. If you are looking for an affordable action figure of a dragon that follows the stereotypical "western" form, and doesn't have two heads, or four eyes, or six limbs, then this is what you are looking for. I have only one negative thing to say about it and that is that they really could have done without the big block of text stamped molded into the underside of the left wing :( Granted, its a toy, and most kids wont mind this, but I collect dragon figures and found this rather annoying... I can not speak to its durability, really, since it is not my intent to destroy it. Clearly the wings, which like the rest of the model are made of rubberized plastic, are separate mold pieces, but they appear to be VERY well attached--- attempts to wiggled them separate from the body suggests they could not easily be removed, if at all. If purchased for a child, I do not believe this should be much of an issue for play without specific intent to destroy. The picture for this product is a little 'green saturated'.. the actual model does not seem quite so vividly green in normal light. For mold detail I would give it 4.5 stars (the text thing) For paint detail I would give it 4.5 stars (however, excellent for a child's toy) Overall appearance I would give it 4.5 stars.

My 6 year old loves dragons and I got the forest dragon to add to his collection. It looks cool and has good detail. It is a little smaller than many competitors out there, which is my only complaint

this product is reflective of all the figures I have ordered from Safari Ltd. they are sturdy, but all features are ornate and indicative of the species they represent. of course dragons are mythical but fun and creative, and the dragons I have ordered so far are beautifully crafted! these figures continue to be great fun for kids, and great collectibles for adults.

Great colour, design and craftsmanship

Ich hätte ehrlich nicht gedacht, dass der Walddrache in natura halten könnte, was die Photos hier versprechen... aber er ist tatsächlich noch viel schöner! Ich habe so einige Drachenfiguren aber dieser hier ist bisher der Schönste von Allen, obwohl er auch der kleinste ist. Er ist detailverliebt bis in die letzte Schuppe, selbst Bart und Hörner sind mit winzigen, kleinen Details versehen, seine Muskulatur ist deutlich und die Pose sehr dynamisch,- trotzdem steht er sicher und wackelt nicht. Und er schimmert... leuchtet, funkelt... in diesem goldenen Grün!!! Wunderschön und wer ihn nicht in der Sammlung hat, verpasst wirklich etwas.
