Slug/Snail Bait,32070

This REALLY works! Last spring the slugs again were enjoying the flower beds, and the nightly handpicking wasn’t making enough of a dent. Clearly not for organic gardening! It was the only product that actually halted the numbers. The warm winter in our region tested these results, and so far maintaining the damage has been successful. Follow the directions! This is poisonous.

Very effective product to kill that horrible slugs. I didn't want to poison the soil in my raised beds and I use the bottle cups as the containers. And I cover the cups with planks or with bottoms from the same plastic bottles for the rainy days. Initially I was collecting and removing like 10 slugs near each cup but now it like 1 or 2 only. I have cups every 2 feet next the raised bed wall. Before dill or sorrel couldn't grow at all because the slugs were eating them before they could grow. Now I have a everything thriving with only couple of leaves with holes. Every couple of weeks I change refresh the bait in all cups.

Kills slugs and snails FAST. they get hard and inedible within hours, whereas the 'worry free' types take up to a week to kill slugs and snails and a lot more things eat the slugs and are poisoned. I hate using bait - it's all poison. I worry about it getting into ground water. But that said, this is the best product for getting the job done and I'm hoping it is not killing my lovely garter snakes, which were dying from sluggo and other brands that are supposed to be less toxic. No, they are not.

I used the commonly available iron phosphate based slug bait in my vegetable gardens but it only lasts a few days in the wet Seattle spring when the slugs are most active damaging new plants. You have to continuously apply new iron phosphate bait. This metaldehyde slug bait lasts much longer and is more effective. It contains the chemical bitrex to discourage pets and animals from consuming it. This is the most bitter substance known. The product should be scattered around the plants not poured into piles. Iron phosphate baits are safe for animals but many have been amended with EDTA which isn't safe. EDTA makes the bait more effective but should be avoided if possible.

I have around 15 different varieties of hostas that were getting mutilated by snails. I found this product mid summer last year and it worked instantly. This spring as soon as the plants started crowning I added this product. These photos are from one of approximately 50 hostas. This stuff is incredible! The only thing that I have found that works. The higher price is worth it.

A greenhouse guy recommended this to me and it worked wonders. I spread it and a few days later the garden was littered with dead snails. It stopped them in their tracks, literally.

Highly recommended. You don't need to put much to see the job done. I keep seeing dead slugs everywhere.
