With this item I just made my first pizza that I didn't have to dig and scrape to get it out of the pan. I really only needed one. Since these are pricey I suggest you get the two and split the order with someone else. I put mine in the bottom of a Miranix (made in Brazil) glass pie dish. It fits like a glove, no overlap. I did have to use care removing the sil pat. I did not use a knife since you do not want to even think about using ANY metal tools on this item. Treat it with Kid Gloves. I used a small piece of wood to lift an edge and tilted the pie plate which was very hot. I was able to pull the sil pat out with the pizza still on it then onto a cutting board. I held the edge of the pizza and pulled the sil pat out. I rinsed the sil pat with water even though there was nothing on the sil pat. My pizza stayed together and I cut it in quarters on a polyethylene or is it polypropylene I don't know. My first pizza that stayed completely together. All in all I had a four piece pizza for lunch and I am pleased with this product. I paid $19 for the two. I notice they jump prices up all the time so I would not be buying at that price. How long will these mats last. The literature says for 2,000 to 3,000 uses. That's about 10 years. I sure wish I had known about these long ago. My pizza was not very big but for me it was a simple task to make it and clean up is a breeze. Where is it made?** A: The description now (9/2021) says, "Designed in France, made in China." **Q: Do these fit flush in the bottom of normal 9" non-nesting cake pans (like chicago metallic or fat daddio)?** A: I just received them, along with two Wilton pans that are supposedly 9-inch. Unfortunately the pans are 8 1/2 inch at the bottom. If you already have some 9-inch pans they will fit. The mats are actually 8 3/4 inch, allowing them to fit in normal 9 inch pans. If you already have 9 inch pans, measure to make sure that they are actually 9 inches at the bottom and if they are, then you should be fine. **Q: Made in france? my 9” came today, says made in china. quickly returned** A: I have long since recycled the packaging and there is no "made in" labels on the silpat itself.
