I was a bit skeptical that this type of thing would be of much benefit. I am quite pleased to report that for me this device works very well. I have had a couple of bad car crashes and fair amount of damage to my neck and lower back. I have been using this for a week and it relieves pain well I have noticed less cracking and popping in my neck for using it on a regular basis. It ships with four of the electrodes with it (a set of one for the device). They last a good while and stay sticky a long time but eventually the adhesive gets a bit weak and they don't stay on that well. For my I just bought a pack of 48 more electrodes from Amazon (I got these https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E6RJ6WK/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_39) You might want to pick some extras up as well. The only negative I can report is that the wire connections are a bit loose on my device. I solved that by pulling the wires taught on the sides of the device and wrapping them to the sides of the device with a rubber band; seems to work fine for me.

My husband was having back spasms and his doctor recommended a Tens unit. I am so glad he did. This has really helped him to get over his episodes quicker. The pads that come with the unit are super sticky and we have gotten multiple uses out of them. I over did it at the gym and started having neck spasms and this was a life saver for me to help with relaxing my neck. The unit is small makingnit highly portable. The screen is not back-lit so be aware of that. I simply wipe the sticky pad off with warm water, let it air dry and I am good to go.

This is going to be an honest review based on usage. I suffer from bouts of arthritic pain. I've known about TENS devices for some time now. My aunt how suffers from lupus was given a TENS device through her medical insurance to help with bouts of pain. Her device was worth almost $700+. That was in the 2000. After having a small incident where I stepped off a curb the wrong way and strained my hip area. I have been in pain for weeks as I slowly recover. I have used massagers and pain relief creams. The only thing I didn't use was a cold compress or my tuning fork. So I decided to look into finding an affordable TENS machine. I read some of the comments and decided give this device a try. The first thing I would say about this device is that it's a simple device. A backup if you need something quick. It's cheap and battery powered. But it still packs enough of a punch in such a small device. Device: The size could have been reworked. Compared to other devices I looked over the only complaint was the fact that the device is not portable enough. It's about the size of a tv remote. Not small enough to put in a pants pocket, but will fit inside a bag. Controls: There are 5 modes for the body, the 6th mode is a "repeat" button. Which I have no idea how this works. And the manual doesn't really tell you. I can only guess that if you already have the device activated and there's a pulse within a mode you're using then you'd push the button to "repeat" it. Provided it's not doing that already. Meaning whatever mode you're using, if you're familiar with the patterns of the pulses then you already know what comes next. Pushing "repeat" tells me nothing of what's happening if it isn't doing that anyway. There are 3 buttons for the type of pulse modes you want, "massage", "beat" and "knead". Then there are two 2 buttons for "speed levels". At first I didn't know if it worked when pressed, but after really paying attention I realized they do. Speed the pulse up or slow it down. On the sides are the dials which control both the on and off as well as the "power intensity". Left side dial controls the left channel port and the right side controls the right channel port. The channel ports are located on the top and they can be controlled separately. Just attach the electrode wire(s) into whichever channel port you want to use and you're ready to go. Power intensity for their respective goes from 1 the lowest to 10 the highest. My only gripe with the display design is around the power dials. On the left side the design showing low to high is in one direction and the right side is high to low. So to turn the device off, you have to go up on one side and down on the other. Which is basically silly when I look at this. It's easier to scroll down to turn something off than it is having to flick it up to turn it off. They would have been better either flipping the "crescent" icon on the right side so that that either both sides showing the maximum power is either up or down. Position the highest intensity or the lowest intensity to off down or up. The only thing I can think of as to why they might have done it this way, might be how some people handle things based on whether they're right or left handed. But I can't think that might be it. I had so much trouble trying to turn the dial when I had both sides charged up. It was annoying having to push one side down to turn it off and the other side I have to push the dial up to turn it off. This is why I thought it better that both sides go in the same direction. All they would have to do is flip the icon on the right side and then position the icons where off is up or down. The other issue is that this device for some reason doesn't reset. You have turn it off and on to start the procedure all over again. The short timer was another complaint I read for those that wanted a longer treatment. The device only does 15min segments. I agree. However it's not the end of the world. After all this is a simple device that is cheap. Given those shortcomings the device could have been programmed in a way without having to turn it off then on again to do another session. Pads: These pads will have to be replaced. They possess a sticky substance similar to the material you find on those toys you toss at the wall. The electrode pads will stick to your skin with no problem. Be careful not to accidently bend them. Anyone that has had to deal with messing up a band-aid knows what I'm talking about. You can fix it but any crease can affect the stickiness. Keep away from fabrics, dust or oils as this will affect it's adhesion. You can reuse these pads if you're careful. Just be sure to place them back on a smooth clean surface. This will help preserve them for awhile until you need them again or until you have to replace them. I reapply them to the plastic they came on and place them back in the box. When I carry them to work I take the electrodes on the plastic and place the whole thing in a Ziploc bag. Protecting them from any dust particles. You can probably use some alcohol to clean or soap to clean them. Just make sure to dry using something lint free. Or air dry. So what do we have? A pretty decent device. Pros: Simple. Somewhat easy to use. Portable depending. Modes. Affordable. Cons: Display. Power/Power intensity somewhat confusing. Better way to reset device without having to turn device off to start over. Too big to fit in pocket. Not portable to some.

I have back pain and nerve pain going down my leg. I have two other units that are the rechargeable type. They are ok but if they die you have to wait to recharge them before you can use it. This one you just put new batteries in it and your good to go. I got this because I don't like the cheap digital display menus on other ones this is basic with buttons and gets the job done. Another review said something about batteries exploding in it. I use this everyday several time a day for well over a month and have had no issues. Evern dollar store batteries work and last for a long time. The one thing I did not know is it has a 15 min timer, after that it stops. So you have to turn off then on and push the massage button to get another 15 min. This is the only thing that has given me pain relief for my back and leg. You must own one of these!

I have used TENS units in the past prior to the replacement of my right hip from an injury. When I recently experienced extreme pain in the right hip/thigh area, while I thought of that unit, I decided that it was much too old to risk using it. I took my time in examining what Amazon had to offer and chose this unit. It has definitely exceeded my expectations, especially at the price! Even I, with my concussion, found it easy to operate. It is the size of a tv remote, so it fits in your pocket. It has recused me from so much pain....now diagnosed as sciatica....and is taking me thru the healing process. One thing I would like the mention, the unit "slowed down" after four days, I hoped it was the batteries instead of the unit, and it was. Do not start high on new batteries as, with at least mine, were tons stronger than what came with the unit. I scared myself and quickly turned it down from 10 to 5. Also, with Amazon, free delivery was offered for the next morning with a $25 purchase. That was a no-brainer....get an extra pkg of pads. As I learned years ago, get the pads recommended for the unit. I had my unit at 5 the next morning....I was sooo thrilled. Thanks!!!

The unit has a very large case that is not able to be clipped onto a pocket or belt making it difficult to walk if need be. It uses a wheel, placed on each side of the case, for the respective wire to control. The wheels are the only way to turn it on. The wheels can be bumped causing it to change the level that the unit is set at -- this is the worse feature! The unit works and delivers the impulses. I've only used it 4 times so far. The TENS pads are the smallest I've ever seen, thus they don't cover the skin as much. The lead wires are really long, and if someone is a large they would probably be able to be placed on the body.

This product is amazing. My boyfriend and I pass it off back and forth or we put two on him and two on me. The pulses are completely controlled by you, but I'd watch out if the pads fall off, because it could shock you a little bit. Also, I wouldn't suggest moving the pads while they're on, they WILL shock you. I would give it four stars because the pads that come with it are nice, but they don't last very long because they're a little less sticky than the second set we bought, but it's just too good a unit for the price to give it four stars for something so easily fixed. I'll post a link to buy 20 pads for this exact unit at the end of this review, they're larger than the ones it comes with, MUCH more sticky and MUCH stronger than the ones it comes with. Also, MOST TENS units have paper pads, and they have to be lubed up with a sticky gel and you cannot lay down on them, which is really pointless in my opinion. With this unit, you can lay however you want and they stick wherever you want them to. I would suggest this machine to ANYONE, and I would also suggest purchasing the extra 20 pads for $8 with free shipping from ebay. You will not be disappointed. For the price, this is the best TENS unit on amazon. Get this one. This is a great product. The battery life is awesome. I have owned this for over a year and have not changed a battery since. The electrodes have been sticky for so long. If they lose their stickiness just wet them and their like brand new. Perfect machine to help out with moderate pain and uncomfortability. The price for the value is so great.
