Cleat appears well made with minimal tooling marks and nicely polished finish. I cannot rate the actual performance as I have decided to return this due to the inadequate hardware included with it. The machine screws appear to be stainless steel but are undersized and have a flat-based head rather than a tapered head to fit the holes in the cleat. I could go to the hardware store or marine supply house and buy the correct bolts but would likely be out an additional $10 and inconvenienced. I don’t include the fact that the included nuts not being friction or lock nuts as I was forewarned by previous reviews and had replacements in my parts bin. Also as noted in other reviews, the small rubber pads are a wonky albeit functional substitute for a spring-based system.*** UPDATE: After I returned this item for the hardware issue, I purchased a pair of identical cleats [https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08S7DPXNW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1] which came with the appropriate hardware. I submitted a review on that item and when it posts you can view it for a tip I came up with for the rubber pads which I and other reviewers have mentioned.
