Made in Japan & super compact
It is not often a makita tool sold in the US is made in Japan. This is a bit lighter than my 18v dewalt right angle drill that pushed to its limit and died. This one though has a really compact head that's 2 inches shorter than the old 18v dewalt keyless chuck right angle drill.Having a keyed chuck contributed to the short head but some may prefer a keyless chuck.This bare tool came with a handle, chuck key clip but NOT a belt clip.

I've tried many different brands angle drills and i know this one is the most powerful and it does very good job. BUT!!! They don't last. I'm a professional technician and i use it a lot, it never lasts more than i year. The first two i repaired (under warranty), and they were good for 2 months more. Now i just buy a new one every time. I'll keep using them, because i think it's the best one for the job, but you have to keep in mind that you're not gonna have it forever.

Perfect for putting holes in studs!
Powerful cordless, right angle drill. Works great for putting holes in tight places, good enough that I use it even when there is enough room for a regular drill. The led work space illumination is a nice touch.

Made in china junk
Used it for first time last night and sparks started flying out of it and look like motor started to short out.. made in china when buying makita buy from a good authorized dealer that specializes in the versions made in Japan then you got a great tool but if box says made in china send that junk back it’s not the same parts .. that goes for the battery’s you buy as well needs to say made in Japan and they will last fir a decade.. I still got 3.0 from 16 years and still going strong and I use them all the time
