I remodeled my bathroom and wanted glass shower doors that were frameless. I did not want a track along the bottom. One of the doors is stationary. My contractor siliconed it in place and it does not leak. There is a small (about 1/2 in) shiny silver strip of metal that connects with the wall of the shower. The door slides from a mechanism on the top. You can set up the door to either open from the left or the right. The door that opens has a handle on the outside, but on the inside the handle juts out slightly so you can use that to open and close the door once you are inside the shower. The doors feel very thick and substantial. My only concern is that I have never had clear glass doors before and we have really hard water. The doors IMMEDIATELY look like they need a good scrubbing with Lime Away. I just read that after I clean them, I should put Rain-X on the doors so this doesn't become a problem. By the way, my sister spent twice as much money on her shower doors and mine look just as nice.
