It was as an fabulous book,which mention about the troy and the adventure of Odyssey with myths. They used roman names for God instead of Greek like Jove instead of Zeus.Other than that all are good..

The book content is all fine, no missing page or printing, but the book edges are a bit damaged and the cover of the book is also some little scratches, but I think it is because of poor packaging and nothing else, overall the book is good.

The book came in really good condition. The print the hardcover and pages are all perfect. And it's a perfect read. Go for it if you are in to Literature and history, Greek mythology.

The book looks absolutely prettiest of the lot. But that isn't it's major pros. Homer was the first western author, this Epic was originally written in Greek around 700BC (maybe older). The book may seem daunting at first but it's been translated very well, it tries to keep the poetic flow and yet keeps it simple to read. This is a good translation to begin with. I've had no problems in understanding the premise behind the two books as I've read about the Greeks and Romans extensivelty. Before picking this up, try to atleast read something about the Greeks and their culture. Will make it easier for you to understand the Gods, Kings , people and the culture that binds them all. Apart from this, you get two books in one, pristine condition, a hardcover and for a very reasonable price. The book is an absolute masterpiece, it opens a gateway to Greek culture. Homer's epics have a huge influence in western culture and that is what makes it a must read!

It is a beat edition which I will treasure. The only negative is the late 19th century language. Especially when a character is addressing the Deity. Thee, thou etc. But otherwise, excellent and the paper quality is top notch.

Have only read the iliad so far and I love it. I love the cover and design of the book. Could not recommend it more.

Compro muitos livros na Amazon, que reputo como uma empresa seria, mas dizer que isto é uma" edição de luxo ", é uma inverdade. Ediçoes como os livros da Martin Claret, Antophagica, Companhia das Letras e outras, sao mesmo, algumas delas, ediçoes de luxo, livros para ler, guardar, colecionar,mas nao este que comprei agora. Como ainda não li esta edição, espero mesmo que a tradução seja tao esmerada como diz a Amazon. De ultimas, dou valor a uma edição caprichada porque considero que os livros fazem parte das nossas historias de vida, então o CONTEUDO e a apresentação dever ser os melhores!
