Twelve South Hirise for iPhone/iPad | Adjustable Charging Stand, Requires Apple Lightning Cable, Gold

Product developer, Twelve South, recently released a new charging stand for iPhone and iPad called the HiRise Deluxe. The stand is an upgrade to the best-selling HiRise also from Twelve South. This new and improved charging dock doubles as a hands-free stand. It’s designed to work with or without cases and meant to bring your iPad or iPhone closer to eye-level so that it’s easier for you to use your devices. Twelve South constructed the HiRise Deluxe out of steel, just like the other members of the HiRise family. One of the biggest features of the HiRise Deluxe is its inclusion of a MFi-certified Lightning cable. The stand is shipped with both a Lightning cable and a Micro-USB cable. The back post is adjustable to ensure you can use your devices whether or not it’s housed inside a case. HiRise Deluxe is great for your home or office because it’s still functional while it’s charging. The special design of HiRise Deluxe doesn’t block the iPhone speaker or headphone port like some docks do. When I received HiRise Deluxe, I was curious how well it would work since the charging cable was strung up through the shaft of the stand. I thought it might be a little awkward, but I quickly found that the cable fits tightly and securely. A big reason for this is because HiRise Deluxe comes equipped with height-adjustable clips. This means that HiRise Deluxe can work with practically any case on the market. This was an unexpected feature, but a very welcome one because it means that no matter what I decide to use with my phone, I don’t have to change my dock to suit its needs. I will admit that because of its unique design, I was a bit nervous about the security of my iPhone and iPad while on the stand. After all, the only thing locking the device into place is the Lightning plug/port connection. When I connected my iPhone, I noticed that while it locked into place well, the iPhone did seem a little loose and tilted easily from side-to-side. It’s secure while charging, but I really don’t feel safe trying to do anything else with my phone while it’s on the stand. I had similar issues with my iPad. Not only did my iPad Air 2 seem to shift back and forth while on the charging cable, but it also doesn’t have as much support from the back post. To me, it just seems like the HiRise Deluxe is not enough to safely hold or store an iPad on it. Twelve South states that the HiRise Deluxe is for both iPhone and iPads, but I just don’t feel very comfortable charging my iPad with it as it feels very lose and unsteady. I have, however, been using my iPhone 6 Plus with it to charge overnight. When an iPhone or iPad is on the stand, its back is resting on a small piece of plastic. For those who do not use a case, you don’t have to worry about damage to your device because the plastic prevents unnecessary scratches. Case users will love this stand. The HiRise Deluxe is a stylish, sturdy stand and I can recommend it as I feel it’s one of the better constructed charging stands I’ve used. The only real complaint I have is that I’m not a fan of the iPhone or iPad only being held up by the Lightning port. HiRise is available in three colors – silver, black or gold. Just received this dock and I really like it. Unlike some reviews I have read this dock appears to be an original Twelve South Dock. All parts including the back post align perfectly. I even received the Twelve South appliqué another reviewer said was missing from their box. This was an Amazon-Twelve South purchase, not from a third party vendor. As other reviewers have stated you must use the smaller 1 millimeter Apple cable. My iPhone 6 plus was shipped with the 2 millimeter cable so I used the cable I was using for my iPod Touch. The unit assembles pretty easily. I tested the dock plugs with my case on my phone before inserting into the post. I use the Speigen Tough Armor Case and the number 2 plug fits perfectly. The case is stable enough. I do use my second hand to hold the base when removing the phone. I have had to do that with other docks too. Under normal circumstances the phone is secure on the dock. Small children with prying fingers could topple it. I would like to mention to Twelve South that if they used a magnetized Allen wrench it would make inserting those four screws much easier. I mean this is a premium dock so it would be nice to have a premium experience assembling it. I also had to work with it to keep the wire cover snap out piece on the underside bottom of the base from coming loose even though the cable was firmly seated in the grooves. I removed the little cellophane type "pull" piece and then is snapped and stayed in place. Over all I am very pleased with the premium look and the functionality of this dock. My back support works perfectly and fully supports the back of the phone. And the absolute best thing I like about this dock is it should work with future iPhones. The design is ingenious. The one thing I hate is spending a lot of money for an iPhone accessory only to have it rendered useless when Apple redesigns their phone. This dock is so adjustable that I believe that problem will be eliminated with future phones unless Apple has a very radical design change such as curving the phones. And the fact that this dock will work with a large variety of cases out there is the biggest plus of all. I decided to take a picture of the dock. Some previous reviews have stated that the back post is cut incorrectly rendering the back support useless. They obviously did not receive an actual "Twelve South" dock. As you can see my back support aligns perfectly. Again, I ordered this through Amazon Prime - Twelve South, not a third party vendor. I feel you are pretty safe by ordering the dock this way. And if something is wrong it is much easier returning to Amazon vs. a vendor.

Il problema più grosso per i dock di ricarica, sia esso per iPhone che per iPad, è la cover. Ossia la presa lightning non arriva a "battuta" se c'è un cover "di mezzo". Beh, dopo una notte passata a cercare qualcosa che ovviasse il problema ci avevo rinunciato. Mi sono messo a cercare uno stand, anche senza che ricaricasse, dove mettere l'iPhone. Poi sono finito su questo prodotto che risolve tutti i problemi! All'interno ci sono tre attacchi di tre diverse misure per ovviare al problema della cover. Io ho quella originale Apple per iPhone 5S e ci sta alla perfezione. La cosa bella è che funziona anche con iPad mini! Quindi se prima avevo bisogno di due basi ora ne basta una, e in più non c'è il problema della cover! Meglio di così! Aggiungiamo poi che è di ottima fattura, solido, ben progettato e di ottimo design. Insomma, il prezzo è alto, ma la qualità come in questo caso, si paga! Chiaramente anche essendo in metallo, non è così pesante da rimanere fermo al suo posto quando pigiate il tasto home, per me non è un problema, lo tengo sul comodino a fianco al letto. Dipende comunque dalle vostre esigenze. Il problema del tasto home c'è meno con iPad essendo più pesante fa fare più "grip" a tutta la struttura. Riguardo alla stabilità di iPad (mini pechè è per quello che è fatto) io non ho riscontrato nessun problema, sta ben fermo come iPhone. Il tutto arriva a casa nella confezione anch'essa molto curata (vi sono anche gli adesivi, tanto per dirvi quanto si rifà ad Apple), il prodotto è da assemblare. Tutto l'occorrente, compresa una piccola chiave a brugola, è compresa nella confezione. Non serve altro, pochi minuti e via. Altra cosa da considerare è che questa base andrà sicuramente bene (essendo adattabile) anche per il futuro iPhone, ammesso che abbia ancora l'attacco lightning. Che dire, acquisto sicuramente consigliato, meglio di così, come estetica, praticità, fattura e versatilità, io non ho ancora visto in giro! Da ricomprare oserei dire!

Broken, I think it should last longer than 12 months

I'd previously bought a belkin iPad stand before this which I used for my iPhone 6, the only issue was that almost all my phone cases were just a little too big meaning that it's been rendered completely useless. But after searching for a while I found this stand. I'd already bought the MacBook stand from twelve south which I use when I put my Mac in clamshell mode and it's incredible quality, it looks and feels like it was made with the MacBook. So when I bought this I knew that I was buying a high quality product, and I was not disappointed. Unlike other stands you are able to completely adjust the stand so that it fits any case, it works brilliantly with my incredibly bulky life proof case which I would have never been able to use previously! Wish I'd looked a little harder first time!

Carino, solido si può aggiustare in modo tale che ci stiano più dispositivi con spessori diversi. Io ci metto nella stessa posizione iPad Air,iphone 6 plus e iphone 5.
