I used moderate pressure, like when I use a pencil to write, and then I used a very light touch, where the pencil was barely touching the paper. I didn't expect to be able to see the very light line, but I could. It's faint, but visible. It does have a pretty high tack, so you may want to test it on an untreated canvas first, like someone else mentioned. I don't know anything about that, though. Maybe is a person doesn't take off the outside protective wrapper that seals the tape and makes it apparent to know you have a unused roll to use. For my experience with this tape I have not had one issue with any rolls yet. I've used just about every brand tape on the markets. I've been in a profession that uses all types of tape for many different surfaces for over 45 years now. This tape I purchased here has not given me one problem yet. I spent way too much money on sundries for painting and this tape far exceeds many other tapes out on the market now.. So I don't understand the bad reviews . Something must of happened to what these others got delivered to them.
