We love these lanterns. After receiving the first one, we were so impressed that we ordered another one. They add a lot of romantic atmosphere to outdoor dining. Rather than repeating the praises of the other 5-star reviews, I would like to address some of the complaints in the 1-star reviews, because I might have solutions for those issues. Several reviewers have complained about excess glue on the inside of the glass panels. Our first lantern had that issue in the upper corner of three of the glass panels. My first photo shows one of those corners. I sent the Seller a message via Amazon, asking how I could remove the glue without scratching the reflective coating (more on that later). They quickly responded that I should be able to rub & pull the glue off the glass with my fingers. I have large hands, so reaching the glue was difficult for me, but I found that I could use a bamboo kebab skewer to dislodge the glue without scratching the glass. After that, we were completely happy with the lantern appearance. By the way, I exchanged several messages with the Seller, and they always replied within 12 hours (I suspect there's a big time difference), and they were always friendly and helpful. Other reviewers complained about the lanterns switching to 'flashing' mode even when 'on' was selected. As others have suspected, I believe this is a symptom of the battery charge getting low. The included NiMH rechargeable AA battery has a capacity of only 400 mAh, which is a pretty wimpy battery. We couldn't buy one that low even if we wanted to. A typical AA rechargeable battery (which costs 1 or 2 dollars) has a capacity of 1600-2500 mAh, which should make the lantern stay lit long enough for anybody. Now, about that reflective coating I mentioned. The product description provided by the Seller doesn't mention that the inside surface of each glass panel has a mirror-like coating that reflects the lights multiple times, creating an almost infinite "hall of mirrors" effect, as shown in my other two photos. This makes it seem like there are way more than 30 lights inside the lamp. I suggested to the Seller that they mention this effect, so they may add it to the Product Details.

I bought this (2 actually) as a replacement of this exact same light. That means I like it so much I bought it again. This is pretty much exactly as the ad states. It looks great on the ploe I have them hanging on. They provide enought light to be decorative, but not really to "Light the way". They hold up well to the weather, do not get water inside the lights when it rains. The only suggestion for improvement would be to have the solar collectors to recharge the batteries on all 4 sides on the top. They are only on 2 of the sides and can make hanging the light so that these collectors are getting the light they need a little bit of a challenge. I would think that with all 4 sides on the top, it would allow the batteries to be recharged so much more effectively and efficiently.

I have had mine for 5 years, and they are still working and very pretty.

These lanterns are great. The lights show up really well.

I ordered one of these and loved it so much I ordered a second one. Unfortunately the second one came with cracked glass on one side. I won't return since you can only see it during the day. Anyway, they look like fireflies in a jar, very beautiful. Not super bright, but bright enough. Will turn on at night even if there are other lights on, which can sometimes be an issue with solar lanterns. Not these. Very happy with them!

Received today and the tiny lights are gorgeous. Can’t say how long it will hold up, but it’s pretty. I’ll post a photo but doesn’t do it justice. Plastic frame hopefully holds up

Well made and very cute. I received my lamp within a few days, box was a bit banged up, but the lamp was alright. It’s sturdy, I like the fact that the frame is plastic so it won’t rust. Simple to use, just twist the top counter clockwise to access the on/off/flash function and battery compartment. It’s nice and heavy, I’m very happy with it. Nice addition to our campsite when we go out! March 2021 update: product had not performed well. The on/off switch starting malfunctioning shortly after I started using the lamp and it does decide to start flashing on and off by itself all the time. I’m pretty disappointed, really liked it when it arrived. I’ll rate it 1 star now!
