Great value, great product, easy to use, and just works!
This is a plug and play device - nothing to do but plug it in, and it worked first time. Purchased to expand network connectivity for a new sales office, setting it up meant putting two screws in the wall under one of the desks, plugging the supplied power adaptor into the device and the wall, and plugging in a network cable between the device and the nearest network port. It was instantly recognised, and we still had 15 ports left to use for phones and computers, which is more than sufficient for a four person sales team. The device can be wall mounted or surface mounted, and somes with adhesive feet which are useful for either type of mounting. It is totally silent in operation, gives full gigabit transfer speeds, is stupidly easy to use, and at less than £50 when I bought it provides a great solution at a bargain price.

Reliable and simple
The TL-SG116 is a reliable, no-fuss 16-port unmanaged gigabit switch ideal for expanding wired networks in homes or small offices. Its fanless metal chassis ensures quiet operation, and auto-negotiation + Auto MDI/MDIX means setup is completely plug-and-play.TP-Link+2B&H Photo Video+2Thanks to Green Ethernet, it dynamically reduces power use based on cable length or whether ports are idle.TP-LinkIt also supports QoS (802.1p/DSCP) and IGMP Snooping, helping to prioritise latency-sensitive traffic like voice or video.FuseWith its 16 GbE ports and passive cooling, it’s a solid choice for users who need reliable, high-capacity wired connectivity without the complexity of a managed switch.Bottom line: Great value for a quiet, efficient, high-port count gigabit switch ideal for dense setups or network expansion.

Excellent Switch
Arrives nicely packed, with a few leaflets and little else. In the box there is the switch and a power supply and four little rubber feet. There is no template, so you need to know that the mounting holes are exactly 20cm apart. If you intend to mount it with the writing the right way up, then you need to move both screw holes 7mm to the right of where you had marked. This is because the switch fits on the screws and then secures by moving it to the left. This is perhaps unusual, but it stops the switch moving up and falling off when you plug cables in, so makes perfect sense. You need No.6 or 3.5mm screws. Anything bigger and the heads won't go in the slots. This is standard for switches.I put the feet on and then mounted it on the wall. Sounds silly, but I prefer doing that. It cushions the switch and means if you ever want to use it desktop, then you haven't lost the feet! Get the screws right and with the feet fitted the switch is very firm on the wall. No rattling here!Construction is good, nice and heavy, and internally has all the right heat sinks. A good quality unit. The only difference I could see with any other switches is it doesn't have an on/off at the back.My only minor complaint, and this applies to all switches that I know of, the LEDs are in the wrong place, and you can't see them when the unit is wall mounted. I have seen some people mount them upside down to remedy this, but something I would not do unless I have blanking plugs for the unused sockets to keep the dust out. I don't, so it went the right way up!!Wiring up, I like all the sockets. The power socket is nice and solid, as are the Ethernet sockets. They are the right way round - with the cable releases facing outwards, not inwards towards the wall (You have to watch this, on some switches the cable release tabs are inwards towards the wall which makes it seriously difficult to remove the cables!! ).Works as you would expect. No sign of any issues. An excellent switch and great value too.Highly recommended.

Small But Mighty
This little switch is an absolute networking ninja. Out of the box, it just works — no nonsense, no fiddling, no firmware drama. Plugged it into both a Mac and a Windows PC, and boom: instant link, blazing performance, and zero compatibility weirdness. The 2.5GbE speeds are rock solid. Transfers are buttery smooth, latency is negligible, and it chews through high-bandwidth tasks without breaking a sweat. It runs cool and quiet, even when it’s fully loaded. If a device doesn’t support 2.5GbE, the switch gracefully drops to 1Gbps (T1000) without a hitch. No disconnects, no drops

Check you get the right splitter
What a terrific piece of kit this is, it works a treat. Chuffed yes. Why? because l was advised to get a ethernet splitter to plug in my 2 desktop computers, printer etc, so l bought a spitter thinking it was right! Not so, for my purposes l needed a ethernet switch splitter, believe me there is a difference, double check to make sure you get the right splitter for what you require to use it for.

A nice little Switch
The product came well wrapped, easy instructions and simple set up. It is made of metal, so it should last in most areas and feels solid.Connections are solid as well as the indicator lights. its a very quiet unit and should power whatever you need i currently have 2 PoE cameras and a PoE doorbell connected.I have a lot of tp gear and it seems to hold up the test of time so I imagine this will be no different
