Harbor Freight has discontinued their small inexpensive infrared thermometer. This doesn’t have the laser pointer but is still a good replacement for kitchen work for determining the temperature of sauté pan surfaces. It works well. When I changed it to Fahrenheit the setting held. The temperature seems accurate on air and solid temperature settings, it works less well when shooting a temp on the surface of a clear liquid.

Units will not stay set and continually default to Celsius. Units only worked for 1 day before they give an error code and will not function at all. Currently garbage and a waste of money. I spent $8 on replacement batteries and that did not fix the problem so I am out $30 overall for two nonfunctioning devices.

The size of this thermometer is great. However, it does have a few quirks which has caused me to remove a star. First, I'm not sure how trustworthy its readings are. When I've pointed it at boiling water, it has said 150 F. Could be user error though- it’s not always clear what it’s measuring and you do have to hold it down to get a reading. Secondly, to change from C to F, you must push a pin into a tiny hole and click a button. The problem is, you have to do that nearly each time you turn it on, as it constantly and randomly reverts to Celsius. Not a problem if you prefer Celsius readings, but annoying for us imperial folks.

The battery always comes loose and we have to reset it. They don't work well. I replaced them with a better product after a week

ordered this infrared for use at work. I needed something quick and accurate and i needed something that wouldnt take up a lot of space. I was worried for the build quality before it arrived as the price is pretty low, but I am very happy with the make and feel now that it's in my hands. the hard plastic has a good weight to it and considering how small it is thats definitely a good thing since it can be easy to forget in a pocket. the button is sturdy and the unit reads fast. a single press will hold the read temp. you can hold it down to scan a broad area. one click and in a second I have all the information I need to make my job that much easier. I will definitely be purchasing from this seller again. already suggesting to my colleagues. exceeded expectations.

It will switch to Celsius at any moment. Starts very intermittently then more and more often. Getting intolerable, I guess, right after the return period expires. Would not by for any price.

I am absolutely loving this little thermometer!! It works perfectly and is super easy to use. It reads the temp to you pretty much instantly and I tested it against a standard price thermometer and it was accurate as well. It's small sized, like a bit bulkier than a Bic pen, so it's really easy to keep on you in your pocket or carry around if you need to for like barbecuing outside or if you want to check your meat temps in a restaurant or something then it would he really easy to their in your purse or carry on you. I am so mad that I didn't get one of these years ago because they're so much easier to use than a traditional probe thermometer!!

These work great! The display is a bit small, but that's not an issue for me. Great value for the money, and they are accurate and precise as well!

Excellent customer service. One of the two units I received wasn't working properly due to a defective on/off switch but was replaced asap without any hassle at all. Definitely will buy it again as gifts cause I have two for myself already. Thanks again Ella.
