I’m running a 3 inch lift on 285s on my 2021 TRD sport. My drive to work is about 45 mins and involves a lot of hills on the highway. The shifting on the 3rd gen’s when it comes to hills everybody knows it just sucks and kills gas. When I run the truck in ECO mode I can definitely see a difference. It really helps the truck shift and stay at lower RPMs. So far after 200 miles I’ve gotten 2-3 MPGs better. Installation is probably the easiest thing you’ll do on your truck also. I believe this product definitely is worth the money if you drive a lot on the highway and are looking for better shifting and better MPGs. Worth the money. There’s no need for the app really bc it just sucks, they do need to update that.

Stellar product! I own a 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4.0L and have always been very disappointed with the amount of performance products available for this truck. In other words, there is hardly anything out there. I was very skeptical about this product as well, and I I decided to call the customer service at Pedal Commander to see what they had to say about this unit on my specific truck. She was able to get me the data I was looking for, so I took the plunge and bought it. They and the retailer who sold me this unit where very responsive in making sure that I received the correct model for my truck (as requested in the item description). When I received the unit a couple of days ago, the instructions where very clear and concise as well. I was having issues in taking off my wiring harness on the pedal itself, so I called Pedal Commanders customer service once again, and the tech was very helpful. He text me pics of the Toyota gas pedal harness so I could see how the clip off and was a huge help. I've now had this unit a couple of days installed, and it makes a huge difference on how responsive the gas pedal is... This does not add any HP, just makes sure that you grab the available HP when and how you like it from the gas pedal. My Tacoma drives like a new machine now and the immediate response on "sport" mode with level 5 tuning is outstanding. It is much quicker than I imagined and I would highly recommend this to anyone especially those 2005-2013 2nd Gen Tacoma owners. What a difference for $299! Well done Pedal Commander! Have been running the Pedal Commander for about 10 days now in my 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road (3rd Gen). Installation was straight forward according to the included instructions and many helpful Youtube videos. Unplugging the stock accelerator cable plug was a bit challenging, but did come unplugged as expected. Installation of the Pedal Commander is really quite simple, so even an all-thumbs knucklehead like me can do it. After driving at various settings for a while, I've settled on City +2 for my taste. The product definitely has eliminated that dead space between pressing the accelerator and getting a response. I find that the truck now accelerates promptly, and with less hesitation and lurching as with the stock arrangement. Gas mileage thus far is unaffected. As others have noted, it does not increase the power, just provides quicker smoother access to it. At least that's my experience. I've had no warning lights of any kind, and my ODB scan shows everything normal as expected. So my bottom line thus far is the product is delivering exactly as promised! Since I'm still under factory warranty, I'll simply unplug it if/when I need to go into the dealership for service. No biggy.

littel confusing to install, took more time than they said - but works great

This is a great product and works exactly as advertised. My new TRD Pro Tacoma is great in every way but it's a dog around town and getting out of it's own way. I do a lot of "quick" city driving and need to dart in and out of traffic. The Tacoma is no good at that. Don't let others say "then just mash the pedal down" it's the same thing (it's not). That's stupid and is not a realistic option for everyday driving. Plus when you mash the pedal you still wait for the engine to react. That would be a horrible way to drive daily. The Pedal Commander (set on Sport +3 for me) is perfect. It makes the gas pedal (and the reaction time) "touchy" like a small car. I actually have to be careful coming out of parking lots to use just a gentle press to get going or else the truck jumps. I am not fooled in to thinking that this in any way gives me more horsepower or torque, I'm simply stating that the gas pedal is 100% more responsive to touch, making the engine (and the truck) react quicker. It works well and installed in 15 minutes with no tools. The only complaint I had was lack of directions on unplugging the existing gas pedal connector. It's one of those things where you're laying on your back with a flashlight in your teeth and you don't know how to release the plug. And from experience you know if you force it, the wrong way you'll probably break the damn thing and have no gas pedal. Finally, after searching, I found a YouTube video with a guy that showed exactly how to push the side tab on the connector, and with that knowledge, the connector popped right off for me. But they really could have shown you that in the directions. Other than that, the install is a complete no-brainer.

If you have a Tacoma this is a must have. Throttle response is horrible in them. I will say they are a little pricey for what they are and do but they function like advertised and easy to install. You will end up setting in on city 2 more and likely.. that seems to be the best setting that I’ve found.. economy don’t even bother with it , sport and sport + is very touchy.. I guarantee you’ll find a sweet spot that will suit you..

So I found Pedal Commander as I was looking for a tuner for my 2017 Tundra. I was looking hard at the Bullydog but alas they don't have a tuner compatible with my 2017 Tundra and I wasn't positive I wanted to drop between $500-$700 bucks for one (don't get me wrong, Bullydog is sweet I just was nervous about that price point). Anyhow, I landed on Pedal Commander and kept coming back to the Amazon page for about three weeks. I was reading the reviews and watching the videos but I just couldn't convince myself to pull the trigger. Finally, I decided that if the Pedal Commander can do what it says from a gas savings perspective, it's a no brainer and would pay for itself pretty quickly so I pulled the trigger. The Pedal Commander arrived yesterday - well packaged and early! I was stoked!!! So I unboxed everything and followed the instructions to the letter and in 10 minutes I was ready to road test. I'll note here that I unlocked my truck from in the house, left the keys in the house and installed the Pedal Commander in the driveway (the key fob can create issues). Installation was ridiculously easy. Two connections and a little cable snaking and you're in business. Once in, I grabbed the keys and of course set it on Sport + setting +4 and the truck literally jumped off the line. I was AMAZED!!! I took it around the neighborhood and tested all the settings and I am over the moon with how sweet this little controller is. While I know it's not providing any additional power, the throttle response is so snappy, it absolutely feels like it. Now my problem is, I'm loving driving it in City 2+, I don't know if I'll ever realize the gas savings that I was purchasing this for initially but I don't care! I would very honestly and sincerely recommend this controller to anyone who is looking to really maximize the potential of your vehicle's throttle response without a ton of time or expense. While I realize that $300 is not cheap, once you have this little beauty installed, you won't regret spending it. This controller does exactly what it says it does and is well worth the money!!! Do it! You won't be disappointed. Super satisfied customer here.

I purchased the pedal commander for my Toyota Tacoma. It was a breeze to install, less than 5 mins to completely install it, run the cable and attach it to my dash. Just to be clear, the Pedal Commander does not increase your horsepower, but it gives you instant access to the horsepower you already have. I've played with all the settings and found city +4 to be ideal for my driving preferences. Once on the highway I'll switch to economy and it definitely makes a difference in milage. Sport and sport plus modes are definitely too aggressive for every day driving, but if you feel like roasting your tires a bit, these modes will get it done. It doesn't give you the same performance that a tune will give you, but if you want some pretty good performance and flexibility for considerably less money, definitely give the Pedal Commander a try.

Its good but the eco mode does not let you save petrol it just let your acceleration slower but the sport mode and city is good it makes your acceleration faster and the response way faster its good for offroading
