Once I came toy senses and did the proper initial speaker set up with my receiver, I can gladly confirm that these are TRUE DOLBY ATMOS speakers. The up firing speakers sound like they are just coming from the speaker, and somewhat tinnier. I tried a few demos, and even ran the speaker check through my av receiver. They make sound, it's just perceived as coming from the same spot. Up-firing is not magic, it's a gimmick and a lie aparrently. That said, the sound quality is pretty good. Feels full and well rounded. Nice little set of speakers for a 5.1 setup, just don't expect it to sound like 5.1.4. Is the value still there?
