Lutron Ariadni/Toggler LED+ Dimmer Light Switch for Dimmable LED, Halogen and Incandescent Dimmer Switch, 150W, Single-Pole/3-Way, AYCL-153P-WH, White

I had recently replaced an old 2-U fluorescent with a Lithonia CPANL 2x2 and found it to be a bit too bright. While this dimmer isn't listed as compatible by either Lutron or Lithonia, other LED+ family dimmers are listed. Pros: - The "scan the QR to get install instructions" is the best I've seen. There is a simple wizard to navigate based on whether its 1-gang or multi-gang and single pole or 3-way. Its short, to the point, and large enough to easily see/understand on a small phone screen. Its better than Ikea assembly pictograms as it has actual .. instructions. - Wide dim range with separate toggle, works with existing/regular switchplates. - Installed in literally 10 minutes in a 3-way single gang. - Dims the CPANL down to almost nothing and can be trimmed all the way down and light still turns on (a couple seconds delay) with no flicker. - No buzzing noises from dimmer or light. Cons: - 150W LED limit is a bit low. However it should work for most retrofit uses because 150W LED replaces 1000-1500W of incandescent. Larger loads in new construction should probably use 0-10V dimming.

I use these for LED lights installed in my living room that were too bright. This installed very simply and I adjusted the high and low illumination setting. It works great and I don't have any flicker of the LED lights as well.

Replaced a standard 3 way switch in my hallway to get ability to dim the lights while still controlling them from either end of the hallway. Installation and setting the low level of dimmer is easy and straightforward (scan a QR code to download wiring diagram) and the dimmer is working well with the 3 BR30 (recessed lights) LED bulbs in the hall. Adjustable light level is a nice upgrade from a simple full on-off.

UPDATE Dec.2023: Dropping a star because the slider dimming is unreliable. Not often, but it happens that when turning it on it ignores the slider position. You have to slide it back and forth to get it right, and it 'normalizes'. Not a big deal, and not a significant inconvenience, but if you are OCD and need 100% repeatability then you might consider a different dimmer. If you can handle the rare, occasional glitch then this will serve you well SUMMARY: Fully recommend!! Fits perfectly and smoothly dims LEDs without flicker or noise. PROS: Fits perfectly in the junction box, and fits through all the light-switch plates I've used so far. The shape/taper on the slider is very comfortable to use (not square like the other models I've seen) --It doesn't get caught on things, or accidentally moved when flipping switch. The dimming is adjustable, so you can fine tune it to your individual circuits. --Can tune down brighter bulbs for subtler use. Does not make noise or hum. Lights don't flicker or jitter. Dimming is very smooth and linear. CONS: The switch body is big. I would not enjoy mounting two of these side by side in a box. Possible, but super tight. A little pricey, but high quality. USAGE: I have two of these in the house now for exterior and interior lights. It's fantastic to be able to dim your outside lights so that you're not the obnoxious neighbor who ruins the night time. The bulbs I ordered for the outside lights were WAY too bright, but pretty, and this switch tuned them to the right level. And now my kitchen can have a morning/night mode that is easier on groggy eyes. It's also great to be able to adjust the dimmer, as not all lights behave the same. (the 'minimum power' needed to still show some light changes from bulb to bulb, circuit to circuit). I don't like the lights to go off when the dimmer is at the lowest setting, and this adjustment allows me to fine tune the cutoff point of the slider. And boy oh boy it works well! All the way down to just a few lumens coming out of each bulb.

Dimmer works great for our LED lights in the kitchen. Dims the lights from full down to very soft light with out any flickering. A lot better than the ordinary dimmers.

The LED light on my porch was way too bright most of the time. This switch solved that problem. It was easy to install, fit perfectly in my existing light switch panel, and I really appreciate the adjustment knob, which lets me eliminate any flicker at the lowest settings. If you are having a problem with the on and off settings being reversed? You probably wired something to the wrong terminal. The top terminal on the right side is intended to be used only if you are setting up a 3-way switch (as in one of those setups where you can control the light from two different switches.) This will happen with any 3-way light switch if you don't wire it correctly. If you aren't sure what you are doing, please hire a professional electrician to deal with this stuff. In this case, it's an annoyance you can easily fix. But in more serious cases (such as connecting the ground wire to the wrong terminal), it can be extremely dangerous. The manufacturer provides a short video showing how to wire it correctly.

When dealing with electricity, felt it was better to deal with a recognizable brand name rather than who has the lowest price. Easy to install, smooth dimming function, peace of mind.

Works great on group of LED pot lights. I have one controlling 7 lights and another controlling 9 Can also be used as a dimming 3-way switch.

This is a great option as an alternative to rocker style dimmers. I was able to keep my original wall plates. The slider works great. The switch and slider are plastic so use caution when installing. The parts seem vulnerable until installed and covered by the wall plate.
