It arrived floating in a large box with just a plastic bag. The crown was crushed like someone put their fist in it. maybe the packer thought it was hilarious? Anyway, I had to ship it back besides the construction looked like a theater prop -- not seriously made.Looking at my options I noticed that a Levine Hat was for sale. I googled them and found out that the 3rd generation was its owners PLUS they shipped their bowlers in a hat box of sorts so that it arrived double boxed. Attention to details means that they are also concerned with quality. The price was perfect, too. The Brits want 4-6 times the price for a hat like that.I don't normally wear hats well but this certainly fit my face and character. This is a really nice hat, but I had to return the original order for resizing. Bowlers fit differently than most hats, but in my experience, I found that the measured hat size was accurate. Do not pay attention to the small/medium/large designations. I typically wear a medium yet I measure in at 7 1/4 (which is a large in this style of hat). The medium was way too small. The 7 1/4 fit fine. The hat is of good quality but a little bit stiffer than I like in a dress hat.
