The Catholic Children's Bible, Revised Edition

I am a Biblical Hebrew and OT scholar. Hence, I've spent some three decades studying the OT in the original Hebrew language, and even more time studying the NT in English. I have a number of bookcases full of Hebrew and Aramaic Bible texts. Even so, I really do enjoy sitting, reading, and meditating on the Word during my daily Quiet Time. And for this purpose, I like a simple, easy-to-read English text. When I ran across this Children's Bible, I had the feeling this was exactly what I wanted - and I was right! This is a beautiful book, delightful to read and meditate on. The binding is nice and tight, and the font is large and bold (easy on elderly eyes, such as mine). The Good News translation is gentle, simple, and 'good enough' for light reading. The Bible has colored (!) tabs for the individual book names, making navigation easy. There are no footnotes, references, or little (footnote) letters hidden about the text, either, so the pages are nice and clean as in a novel. If you want a reading Bible - not a study Bible, but one to read and ponder and pray over - this is it! Wonderful for any age or persuasion. How I wish this Bible was available during the sixties, during my childhood!

Bought this bible for one granddaughter as a Christmas gift and have sinse bought one for my other grandchildren. We lucked out at mass that the bishop was offering, and he blessed it for her after mass. How special. He spoke highly of the layout and can see how inviting it is for those who are not yet ready for the teen youth bible, but want something more than the "story" bibles. It has enough graphics and color to be inviting while still being the full catholic bible. Includes breakaway sections to assist in discussion of historical context, how to live it, community service, prayers, etc. Shared with someone else at church who worked with children's ministry. She loved it as well and posted on the church facebook page. Very highly recommend. Let's encourage and engage our kids in the word.

Perfect Catholic children’s Bible! I definitely recommend splurging for the hardcover - it is SO worth it. Very sturdy. The font size is perfect for reading aloud to my daughter and will be perfect for her as she learns how to read by herself.

This book is a wonderful tool to teach a child of 18 months how to: learn to read, learn about history, learn about a dictionary, learn how settle disputes, learn how God thinks and behaves.

This Bible is great! It has some colored pages that are easy to understand and have coordinating stickers, my 6yr old grandson loves that. It also has text that give more detail and is good for the 12yr old.

I love that it’s a complete Bible and it’s not only picking certain stories!

I was surprised by the size of this Bible (my fault for not looking at the dimensions)...it is BIG. That being said, it is a beautiful production that we plan to gift our younger daughter who is preparing to take her First Communion. The language is plain and simple. Love how the Bible stories are highlighted separately from the full Bible text, which makes them easy to find. It is also in full colour, through and through. So, bottom line is that it is worth every penny and will be a beautiful and fulfilling gift. Just beware the dimensions, especially if you plan to get a Bible cover/case.

My children have this bible at school and really wanted it for Christmas. It is well illustrated and written in a clear and easy manor for little ones. I know my son is going to love this bible.

I’m not catholic but I bought this for myself as I knew someone who had one and it’s so well written and in easy to find sections I’d recommend it to anyone

Achei essa edição decepcionante. Como estamos de quarentena por causa da covid, comprei vendo apenas o vídeo disponível no YouTube, ou seja, não tive a oportunidade de folhear antes. Imaginei que fosse ricamente ilustrado e com varias atividades. Porém, é o inverso. Ele é todo texto, nada atrativo para crianças, ainda mais para a minha de apenas 5 anos. É bem escrito, mas não é encantador. Não recomendo.

This is a beautiful book! It is colorful with easy use instructions, explanations and gorgeous pictures. Any age person will love it and how it teaches Bible use and Reading as well as being a full Bible. Great tool and treat for us all. Came quickly and in perfect condition to gift my grandson in his First Communion year
