Inspired by the Bible Experience: The Complete Bible

I regularly listen to this audio version of the Bible. I love recognizing known voices and all the sound effects help bring the stories to life. Very professionally done.

Okay first let me say that this particular version is an mp3 cd set. That means if your CD player will not recognize mp3 formatted disc's it will not play these CD's. I thought my car CD player was capable but it was not, but that is okay. I downloaded the discs on to my MBP and then put them on my phone and I listen to it on my way to work and on my way home. Now if you have the software you can burn a copy that is formatted as an audio cd but uncompressing them to an audio format would be a lot of CD's. Example the audio CD version has 60 discs for the old testament and I believe it is 19 or 20 for the new testament, so 80 discs, where this mp3 version is 8 discs. Now, the way this Bible is being presented is so awesome, it is being dramatized, there are 400 people who were involved in recording this, people like; L.L. Cool J, Cuba Gooding Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, and many more. Some of who I know and some I do not know, but these people are reading the bible as if it were a movie script. This is like a movie without the visual aspect of the movie. I love being able to listen to this in the car it makes the car ride to and from work productive for me. I also get a chance to hear the books of the bible that are for me hard to read like Leviticus, I think we can all agree that that particular book of the bible can be hard to read. I highly recommend this Bible to anyone who is breathing. Even if you are not a believer the production value of this bible reading is well worth the money and you will be listening to some of you favorite movie, TV, and radio stars bring the bible to life. There is nothing like this that I have ever encountered and it is something that will be worthy of passing from generation to generation in you family. Buy this, now!

I bought this a few weeks ago and I CANNOT stop listening to it. Because of this audio Bible, I have spent more time in Scripture in the past few weeks than I have all year! Wow! This Bible has God's anointing all over it. When I listen to this Bible, I am transported into the writing in way that is so powerful, vivid, and real. The words spring to life for me and convict me in a way that is profound and moving. This is THE best purchase I have made all year. The readings are AWESOME. Seriously awesome. The sound effects and music add so much meaning and emotion. The entire work is executed beautifully. I literally can't stop listening to this Bible - I put it on while I get ready in the morning, while I jog on the treadmill, while folding laundry, while playing fetch with my dog, etc. I uploaded the entire thing to Google Music, and I stream it from my phone wherever I go. I have been soaking up God's word day and night. What an absolute gift and blessing it has been to own this Bible. Right now, as I write this review, it is past midnight and I am about to go to sleep, but I can't help but play a few chapters of Luke before I pass out. Seriously -- this Bible has gotten me addicted to the Scripture...Praise God! Highly recommended! Don't hesitate to buy this!

I hesistated on this purchase for probably a year before I decided to purchase the whole set. A multi-voice drammatic reading of the entire Bible is a large and complex project, so they are not free. I already had three recordings of the New Testament, fully drammatized to single voice. And I had one for the Hebrew Bible. Did I really need another? I purchased Genesis through Deuteronomy as single books as I taught through the Pentatech this autumn. It was good enough to convice me to take the plunge. Here's what I got for my money. Overall, this is an excellent recording. The technical quality is high, recordings are clear, the direct-to-your-mp3-player file format is much more convenient than the cassette tapes and audio CDs I've had in the past (no ripping required!). The TNIV translation is fresh and clear, yet dignified and accurate. It should be: it boasts impressive scholarship behind its rendering of the biblical texts (e.g. Gordon D. Fee for the New Testament). The one small criticism I might make is that oral interpretation is somewhat uneven. Most of it ranges from good to, well, the word "magisterial" comes to mind. Yes, some of it really is that good. Occasionally, however, a voice seems to leave a drammatic moment flat. Yet for the price--and Amazon's price couldn't be beat--these recordings are probably the deal of the decade. It certainly is one of the best drammatic renderings of the Bible I've ever heard. For many books, it IS the best drammatic reading I've ever heard. In summary, I need not have hesitated. Buying this set was a very good decision. For those who've never LISTENED to the Bible before, be ready to have your ears opened! From ancient times, this is the way it was intended to be encountered: orally and with flair. I haven't listened to any other Bible recording since this one arrived. Very enjoyable, highly recommended.

I love audio books (dramatized especially) and the Bible. This is my favorite Bible audio book by far. The actors are incredible and put so much life into it. Generally I enjoy the background sound effects and music but sometimes it's too much and can be distracting or reused. Overall I love it, it's wonderful to hear such a work, and I look forward to hearing it again and again! For example, Denzel Washington and his wife Pauletta read the Song of Songs to each other - it is emotional, powerful, and much richer than an old white guy reading both parts monotonously. This version brings life back to the Bible stories compared to other versions I have.

I was looking for an audio bible that didn't make me snore and I have always been sort of put off by the usual voices on them. Seriously they usually sound like some stuffy old British guy. This reminds me more of the dramatic classic bible movies that I grew up with. The music, the sound effects and the acting...well I don't get me started on the acting. I am only on disc 4 but couldn't wait to give my review. Very passionate performances by actors whose voices I recognize and feel close to and it really feels like they believe in the stories. I have recommended this to every one I know. Just listen to a couple of verses...you'll see!

I absolutely love this audio Bible. I listen to it on the way to and from work and I've gotten pretty far. I hear things that I usually have missed because when I'm reading the Bible sometimes I'm in a hypnotic mode as I'm trying to read things, but as I listen to it I think to myself, "I don't remember that" and I go back in the Bible and lo and behold there it is. I really love it. It's a great way to look at things, the way people said things are different as well. Not that the content is different, but the tone of their voice. Sometimes I read something and I didn't think the person would have said it in a certain way but listening to it gives me another insight into how that person might have been thinking. I really love it it's really great I definitely recommend this product.

I am really enjoying this purchase. I commute multiple hours/day and was looking for a way to fill the time with something productive, such as getting better acquainted with the Bible. I had a different audio-Bible, but it was so dull that it practically lulled me to sleep in my early morning and late evening drive times. This production is much more dramatic, entertaining, and makes me WANT to listen to the Bible. I love that it is in fairly modern vernacular and the actors really bring it to life. It is easy for me to imagine the people and places, much more than simply reading the words on a page. I highly recommend it!

The Bible Experience made the Bible come to life. I love it. We still listen to it quite often. I really like the sound effects in the background. You can hear the animals in the background or the thunder and ightning if there's a storm. It's much easier than reading the Bible.

I received my package on monday, right on time. The discs were organised well and are easy to play. The sound quality is good and the picture quality on the DVD was great. I am sure l am going to enjoy hours of listening to the gospel. The only downside and this was my fault, it is in Mp3 format so need to use a Mp3 playing radio if you want to listen around the house. My radio is not, but am using it on my laptop with no problems. I will be transferring it onto my ipod soon so l can listen to the bible wherever l go. Thank you so much to the makers of this wonderful audio bible.

This is by far and away the VERY BEST audio bible I have ever listened to. It is true to the text and BEAUTIFULLY read. I listen to it all the time.

Purchased the MP3 edition which is great value. It loaded onto PC quickly & transferred to iPod easily. Love the fact that the text is there while you are listening, nice touch. Very impressed with this product, my only gripe is that the background music at times gets annoying if you listen for a long time. The melody less music behind the text has a mind numbing quality that makes you lose your concentration sometimes when it is loud, ie under a long narrative without speech or lists. The sound effects in the background though are really great & bring the text alive. I've just had spine surgery & the drugs i have been on for a year have made concentration very difficult. I purchased this after reading reviews of this & other audio bible. I am listening for hours each day & even the most difficult stuff to read (lists of names!)comes to life. I asked God to help me with to get back into His word while the morphine continues to make reading hard & this product is such an answer to prayer - a huge blessing. When i am well I intend using this in the car as well as at home. So glad i brought it. Praise God for His word.
