Good weight, and solid construction . Plays vey quietly and is good quality. I did a ton of research before purchasing this turntable, and it’s a worthy competitor to the pro-ject and fluency turntables. The cartridge that it comes with is just ok—tracks well and sounds fine—but an upgrade greatly improves performance. I went to a grado cartridge and it sounds fantastic!! This is my biggest complaint with the table— it really should come with a better cartridge. The detachable head shell does make changing it much easier. It also comes with a very decent preamp that sounds very good. I also have a Pluto preamp, but prefer the built in preamp that comes on the Miracord turntable for use with my system components. I am thoroughly enjoying playing my vinyl on this table. I had a uturn orbit for several years and moved up to this. The uturn was great for the first two years, then motor clicking and tracking became a huge issue. I even upgraded the orbit cartridge to a 2M Red and platter to acrylic, but this Elac Miracord has been a significant improvement. I was able to purchase directly from Elac at a discounted price of $298. I also have the Elac Debut 6.2 speakers running through a Yamaha amp and Polk subwoofer. This combo with the Miracord sound fantastic! If you’re looking for a solid turntable this is a great option! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality, rugged and dependable. *by F***K on December 4, 2020* I love this turntable, I was wary buying it sight unseen but it has turned out to be a good choice, At first I wasn't sure about the conical stylus it came with so I ordered a LP Gear CARBON FIDELITY CFN3600LE stylus to replace the stock conical and all I can say is wow. this is perhaps the best turntable I have ever purchased in terms of musical quality and stage. I was already thinking of up grading the cartridge before I bought it but simply put there is no need. The combination of a better stylus has made this one great combo. I love it and happy with the purchase directly from Elac on black Friday for $300. and at that price point nothing can touch it. I have owned a lot of turntables in my long years, but this is the best of the rest. This offers a standard headshell which gives you options if you have more then one cartridge you swap them and just rebalance the tone arm without having to set up the calibrations. I would recommend this to to anyone that is looking for a solid performer with the history of one of audio's great names Miracord. A update on my review, I went a step further with this turntable by changing the cartridge to Nagaoka MP-110 and adding Schiit Mani external preamp, All I can say is WoW. The turntable allows easy swapping of cartridges with it's bayonet mount allows you buy a cartridge pre mounted from your supplier saving the large trouble of aligning the cartridge. What is important is the music and this turntable delivers that without adding it own noise to the equation. I doubt I could be more pleased with this purchase. I am audiophile but, a cheap one. I seek results that matter and value, like I said the music matters and this is where this turntable delivers.
