Tetrahydrofuran often abbreviated THF appears as a clear colorless liquid with an ethereal odor, it is Less dense than water and has a Flash point 6 °F. THF is classified as a cyclic ether. It is a colorless, water-miscible organic liquid with low viscosity. It is mainly used as a solvent and precursor to polymers.

Review: Perfect for creating a custom PVC cement - This is the solvent that is used in the Electrical PVC Cement from the hardware store. I had some nicks/dings in a harlequin (vinyl) dance mat and could not find a PVC cement that matched the color. I ground up some scraps of the same mat and dissolved it in this THF. The result is PVC filler that perfectly matches the mat color! This stuff is high purity and quite volatile. Be careful when working with it. Nitrile gloves, VOC respirator, and well ventilated area are a must.

I decided to preform a grignard with it. All I did was drop seives in, waited 4 days, and ran the reaction. Didn't even need an iodine crystal. Just a hot water bath to kick it off. I made the decision to strip off the THf under vacuum even though it was old. Had no problems so I'd like to think it's stabilized, regardless it worked fine. That was with a 120ml, I ordered another 500ml. Poured off a bit into the empty 120, seived them both, ran another grignard and it preformed equally well. So if you need this for a reagent and not for 3d printing. Save the dollar and order this, don't bother with the more expensive brhands.

**Q: Is this stabilized?**
A: I am not sure, but it works well for my purpose. I use it for joining 3D printed PLA parts.

**Q: I was reading that this can be used to dissolve PLA and help clean the brass tips, has any one any experience with this product in doing so?**
A: It does work if you soak the tip for 15 minutes or more. The solvent action is visible as you see small speckles of the resin being dissolved and lifting away. I did use a brass wire brush and needle to pick out the last remaining after resoaking. I'm sure it will dissolve better if left soaking for a longer time. But do this with plenty of ventilation. The solvent smells like a nasty pipe solvent for cementing pvc and abs.

**Q: Have you ever used it for a PLA "smoothing" or making PLA shine like ABS uses acetone?**
A: We are in the process of doing this now.  Need new glass jar as ours broke on hot plate.  Initial result was not fantastic.  It's smooth but you see lines from build layers.  We need to try again.

**Q: is the TFH stabilized with BHT?**
A: Nothing on the bottle indicates that it is stabilized.  I assume that it is not stabilized.

Will dissolve/bond TPU in the similar fashion as acetone to ABS. Be careful not to over-apply and be in a well ventilated area.
