This massager is EVERYTHING I expect from Comfier. Thanks for raising the bar!
This is my honest review of COMFIER Neck Back Massager with Heat, Shiatsu Massage Chair Pad 2D/3D Kneading & Compression Massager. Wow that its a mouthful. I want to talk about the few things that really matter to me. Essentially, I want to talk about package presentation including shipping experience and unboxing. Next, I will talk about installation, followed by learning curve, usability, and finally the product performance review, followed by wrap-up/summarization. 1. Shopping and shipping experience You are ordering from Amazon, as you know, and there should be no problems here... if you have Prime, you should get your shipment promptly. I received my shipment 3 days after ordering, but there was a holiday weekend during my wait. 2. Unboxing - see attached photos, the box is clearly descriptive but comes in an outer cardboard box. Inside, in exactly one minute I was completely unpacked with the massager unit, AC adapter, product manual and warranty card/reminder. The remote control is attached to the unit but tucks away when not in use. All in all, the unboxing is simple and installation can be done by anybody. There are 2 elastic straps which attach to a chair you would like to use (I recommend an upright but comfortable chair.... the wooden chair that I used was a little too stiff, but hey, I was excited to start using the massager). 3. Installation and learning curve: Installation is quick. 1. Attach elastic straps to back of chair, 2. Attach AC cord to massager on one side, and outlet on the other. 3. Before you sit down, determine whether you want to remove the flap which lies in front of the middle of the machine where the shaitsu "fingers" lie. A piece of velcro holds the flap in place. The massager is more intense on the back when you do not use the flap. I like to remove the flap for this reason, and because I like seeing the lit-up shiatsu compression balls along the middle lower part of the unit (see photos - lit up in red and blue). Learning curve can be quick if you sit down and press "DEMO" on the remote. My suggestion is to do this the first time around so you can experience the different functions and areas massaged by the unit. Once you learn the remote, via a few days practice, you'll know exactly which buttons to hit to get to what you need quickly. 4. This massager has a lot of areas, functions, and hence possibilities. I have a photo of the remote control which can help me explain different features of the massager. The top row of buttons has "vibration" and "demo". Demo, as I mentioned, is a good place to start and should be about 15 minutes. Vibration refers to vibration of the seat, and has 3 intensity levels depending on how many times you push the button... low, medium, and high, then off. The 2nd row refers to the neck shiatsu massager balls... and can be raised or lowered. The rotation can be made to go clockwise or counter-clockwise, depending on your preference. Regarding the next row, I feel deep pressure with the 2D/3D button so I liked it turned on... "rolling" made the nodes travel up and down, stretching out my spinal muscle with simulated fingers. "Spot" with the 2 arrows offers fine-tuning of a spot massage without the rolling function... this is helpful when you have specific pinpoint soreness. For the row of "AIR" buttons, I like to use "Air back" along with "Air seat" to get compression in the lower back and seat areas... the intensity button feels very strong on the highest level, so I suggest starting on a lower intensity for this. Finally, the last row of buttons before the power button indicate if you want Shiatsu massage on full back, upper back, or lower back... I suggest going Full back (both lights lit I think). The heat button should be obvious, but I'm not fond of heat in my massages. 5. In summary, this is a full featured high-performance product, and I feel like this is premium and next best to getting an actual massage chair in the thousands of dollars. For this product, portability beats an actual massage chair every time... I can get this massager off my chair and packed in a minute flat. (I like to remove this massager when my nephews come by because this is a quality massager and therefore not a toy, and therefore children should not use, or at least use with supervision). This massager is everything I expect from Comfier. Thank you for reading.

Amazing Relief After Working Too Hard doing Yard Work or Any Physical Tasks
I LOVE this massager. I was thinking maybe the air bag compression wouldn't do much, but I'm VERY glad I got that. It really does add a LOT to the experience. I'm in my late 60's and work on my property outside cutting logs and doing a lot of things that are hard on my muscles and my back. I used to need to see my chiropractor once a week at LEAST because of the abuse my body felt. But this massager has changed all that. Now, I massage right before and right after working outside. I use the massager a few times each time and I avoid needing trips for spinal adjustments or acupuncture. This thing really makes a difference in my quality of life. The controls are easy to use and the massager is very versatile. Before I do heavy yard work, I use the massager for one "session" with the full back setting. The shiatsu rollers travel the full length (height?) of my back and get my muscles ready to be used. The seat vibration is nice, and I usually leave the heat off on these warm summer days. The neck massage rollers are independent of the back rollers, and they can be adjusted up or down so that they hit just the right spot. I play with reversing the direction of the rollers, and they really do feel different with each setting. There is no rhyme nor reason for which feels better when, so I just play with it and when I'm happy I leave it. The air bag compression is stronger than I thought it would be originally, and it makes a huge difference in the quality of the massage. The bags hold me in place and I think that makes the rollers more effective. The bags themselves also are doing some serious work on my body and muscles, but it's hard to describe. I can tell you, though, that when I use the massager without turning on the compression bags, it's a whole different experience. It's still good, but with the bags, it's fantastic. This is actually the second one of these massagers that I have gotten. I bought the first one OVER 3 years ago, and I used it at least once a day every single day. Most days, I used it twice, and on some days after working in the yard, I used it even more. Long story short -- I gave my old one to a friend who really needed it and got myself a new one. I can NOT be without one of these, and if you have back issues, you will love this thing as well. Now, if my back is ever slightly stiff or hurting, I use the chair massage mat for a couple of times while playing video games or watching TV and my pain vanishes. I seriously can't say enough about how this product has improved my quality of life and allows me to still do a lot of yard work and work outside year round.

Pretty darn good, I like the customization
I had limited expectations, but I think this met and even slightly exceeded them. I'm 6'1" and I'm able to make the neck feature work with the normal back part. That being said, I do reposition myself on the back part whether I want to include more of my lower back or upper back - it doesn't reach ALL of my back and did not expect it to. Depending upon where I position it for my back, I can then move the neck up or down. My expectation for the neck was to reach my lower neck and traps. I never expect or would want a machine to massage my cervical spine. The heat function isn't amazing, this is not a heating pad, but works better in some modes than others. When using the spot mode for the back massage, the heating elements stay right on that part of your back for a while and it heats up pretty good. When it is doing the typical shiatsu (rotating) motion along the full range of travel then you don't really notice the heat. The air massage truly is a great benefit over other options. It is more noticeable with the Back air feature because it is helps to push your sides and back into the back massager. It creates the supportive "pinching" feeling you would get from a person giving a massage that is pressing their thumbs into your back near the spine, but the fingers are pressing along your side. I find the bottom air massage helps to target the lower hips/glutes. The vibration in the seat is not a great feature. I would have bought this without the vibration. I rarely use it. Pro tip: I remove the flap that comes pre-installed over the the back section and use it over the neck section. I wasn't getting the impact I wanted on the back when it had the flap installed and I frequently feel the neck massage to be too strong, but using the flap over it is a more pleasant experience. It would be great if the flap was designed to be used for either or if there was a separate flap just for the neck section. I am aware that the neck area technically does have its own cover, but that is very thin mesh compared to the foam flap for the back. I've only recently started using the app. Setting aside the unknown data safety of random Chinese company apps, it is fairly functional. I like that I can set favorites. That directly addresses the issue when only using the remote that you need to press all of the buttons to set everything up again (neck, back mode, heat, air, etc.) vs just remembering its last setting and going for another round. At $200 it is not cheap, but air feature and spot mode mean that you can dial this in exactly how you need it, which changes day to day. As long as it lasts for 3-4 years of regular use, it is a great value.

This is better than a personal masseuse !!
I have had an aching back for years and the last few years I have been waking up with cramps in my neck that make it almost impossible to turn my head for a few hours after waking. My wife has been harping on me to by a shiatsu massager and so I went online to read reviews on various brands and "COMFIER" had by far the best reviews and lots of them, so I sent off for the "Comfier Shiatsu Neck & Back Massager – 2D/3D Kneading Full Back Massager with Heat & Adjustable Air Compression" which is model CF-2309A. I was excited when it arrived and had already set my couch up, (where I sit with my dog), and quickly unpacked the massager and set it up on the couch and plugged it in. (I am sorry but I did not even read the instructions at first because I just wanted to test it out!) WOW! This thing is amazing!! It has got so many bells and whistles that I had forgotten all of the different massage functions, but WOW!! The shiatsu balls that run up and down your back are positioned exactly where you need the massage, on either side of your spine, turning and rolling up and down and massaging your whole back in a way that is so relaxing. The massage balls can be changed to just roll up and down without turning around, which copies the motion of a massuese rolling their hands or fists up and down your back. I could do it for hours on end! (Though after actually reading the instructions they state that you should not use it for more than 15 minutes at a sitting so you won't overstimulate your muscles and nerves. Next let me tell you about the neck massager part. I am not the tallest person out there but the neck massager massages my neck perfectly because it can be raised or lowered at the touch of a button. So I set it for the lowest height. The shiatsu balls rotate either clockwise or counter clockwise at the touch of a button and the heat (which is in the neck and the back massage balls) helps your muscles to expand and release any pinched nerve that I have. The other thing that the Comfier Shiatsu massage does that I did not see on "any other neck and back massager" is air bladders that inflate and press on the sides of you back that feels so good and gives me the feeling of sitting in a super expensive sports car seat that fits you so snug and tight. To sum this up, I could go down the street and pay a professional massuese $45.00 per half hour or use the "Comfier Shiatsu Neck & Back Massager – 2D/3D Kneading Full Back Massager with Heat & Adjustable Air Compression" model CF-2309A and get better results without spending an arm and a leg, and the added benefit is you can get a massage whenever "you" feel like it. In the morning, noon or before you go to sleep. In one word, WOW!!

Effective product that is highly satisfactory
What I like about this product is that it provides (at least for me) instant pain relief. The pressure it gives is substantial. I used it with the padding it brings (you can remove it) and without it. Without it, its intense therefore I put the padding back on until my back adapts (i have A LOT of tension so less is more because of the sensitivityin my back) My pain is from a 2012 car accident and post surgery (explained below) Keep in mind it depends on the severity of pain one has. Im not saying Im cured and I know the tension may come back due to a pre-existing condition from the accident but to get relief using it daily is a HUGE help. Granted, I recently bought the Shiatsu. My mother (she has a herinated disc for years) and I have been using it since it was delivered on Sept 10, 2019. I am 2 wks post op of Abdominal surgery which requires me to walk hunched over for 2 wks. That caused me to have a major knot in my back. Im used to sitting up straight so to be in a hunched position was unbearable. I also have to sleep reclined which is uncomfortable for me because I normally sleep on my side. The Shiatsu has helped me significantly. So far, it has helped me to stand a bit straighter with little to no effort, it relieved tension in the middle and lower back and neck. For my mother, she swore after 1st use, her back felt looser and she was able to bend down with ease and improved her posture for that day. We'll see over time if her flexibility improves and better posture is maintained. This was definitely a good investment. To know I can have pain relief on a daily basis (in the comfort of my own home) is priceless. I've mentioned the pros now here is the cons which there's a solution. Con: Im 5'7 and i thought the neck portion of the massager would hit the lower part of my neck but it doesnt unless I sit higher up. (Solution, sit on a cushion. No problem) Also, I wish the massager could go a little higher towards my upper back behind the shoulder blades (for that, maybe I'd slouch down a bit? But then I wont be able to do the neck at the same time) Regardless of those 2 cons, I still think its worth it. It still did what it was made to do. My mom is 5'3 and cant reach the neck area unless she sits on a cushion. Wish the chair had an adjustable feature to accommodate all heights. Note: I've used it on my leather home office chair and on my sofa (recliner). Works wonders. Also, the heat setting is not as hot as a heathing pad which is fine for me and my mom. We still enjoy that feature. Its just enough.

Just like a full size massage chair.
It is absolutely unbelievable how amazing this Massager is. It is just like sitting in a $1,500-$2,500 full massage chair minus the leg and foot massage. The app is extremely beneficial. You can save you favorite massage setup. (I am not sure of how many favorites it allows you to save.) The app also has session timer control which is a simple slidebar allowing you to increase the session time to 30 minutes and when the timer runs low, with a swipe to the right you can add more time to your session. Also with the app you can control the heat setting either low, medium or high heat. The remote only turns on or off the high heat setting with no ability to control the low or medium heat setting. It has air bags that inflate which hugs and compresses your hips and sides of your back. The air bags for the back go up almost to my armpits. I am 5'10" also I am skinny/thin and the airbags inflate enough to squeeze and compress me tightly. The back nodes can roll straight up and down without any circling or you can turn on the 2D or 3D motions and the nodes move just like someone is massaging your back with the heal of their palms in circles. The neck massager is a beast. You can move the neck nodes up and down for people of different heights, also being able to move the neck nodes up and down allows you to move it up your neck for a neck massage or you can lower it and it will massage the base of your neck and inner shoulder area. The only downside or thing this massager is lacking, in my opinion is the heat is warm and does not get very hot. Personally I wish it would get hotter. If you need or are looking for heat therapy this might not be the one for you. Shawn.

Not so great customer service
This product was absolutely great when I bought it and it helped me out a lot. I don’t know what happened, but it finally broke somewhere inside. Not all of the functions work the way that they should. Amazon no longer offered the return option so I reached out to the company that sold it through Amazon. I was initially very impressed by how quickly they responded to my inquiry.Their support did say that I could return it and they would send a new one because it is still under warranty. They did inform me that I would have to pay for the return shipping. I googled what it would cost to ship by weight. And according to Google, it was less than $75. I got in to the shipping company today and gave them the ZIP Code for where it would be getting returned to. $268! Out of my own pocket! The shipping company told me to call Amazon and argue, argue, argue. I called Amazon. I cannot tell you how many times I was put on hold while they “check something“. It came down to I would need to talk to somebody higher up, even though they could see on their end that the product is still under warranty. Yes, out of frustration I finally hung up. Needless to say, I did not ship it back. I could buy the item brand new again and for less money. On the upside…My husband showed me how it can still be used (he’s a man, therefore it’s not broken)🙄🤣. I can do the spot option on the control panel and adjust the rollers manually instead of automatically, like how it should operate. So if I want the shiatsu option, I have to push the buttons to slide the rollers up and down. Yeah, you are reading that correctly. For the product itself, I would give it five stars for the time that it did work. This item was a godsend for the time that I had it in working condition. Mind you it was bought August 12 and today is May 17. Better longevity would be nice. For the customer service through both Amazon and the company that sold it through Amazon….. great big zero!

Brutally Honest, Unbiased Review. :: Spoiler :: I am returning the product.
Look i'll be honest here. I am returning the product, and figured I would let potential buyers know some things I wish I knew before purchasing. As body size and weight matter with a product like this, I'll start by saying that i am a male, 5'10" 180lbs. Athletic build but absolutely no bodybuilder, probably progressing more and more each day towards the dad bod side of the spectrum. 1) Its a great massage from the (2) shiatsu functions. Although I would have preferred the shiatsu massagers to have a bit more oomph, they still get the job done. The motors would bog down when putting a bit of body weight/pressure onto them, not too much, but when you really need a knot worked out, you gotta get up in there! However the massages were deep and targeted in both neck and back. The tracks for both of those areas have alot of travel. Neck feature hit from the bottom of my skull to base of neck inbetween shoulders. Back shiatsu was slightly lower than I wanted at the highest point, hitting just above the bottom of my shoulder blades mid back. As for the lower back reach, it would go all the way down to hit those 2 lower back dimples area, whatever that is called. You can also adjust width of neck and back shiatsu balls, but the HEAT option is ONLY for the back shiatsu balls. 2) The seat vibrates with 3 settings, a feature that felt cheap and gimmicky. Not much to say about that option. 3) The lower back air bags. This was a new one for me. The side airbags that target the lower back/ obliques area really did NOTHING for me. The air bags here just seemed to adjust the way it supported my back, exactly like how my car does in the same area (oblique). But to call it a massage is a stretch. You wouldn't sit in your car moving the electric lumbar support in and out and call that a massage, would you? The air bags were strong though, seemed to really pump in some decent PSI on those air bladders. 4) The seat air bags (glutes). Now this was actually functional. Same strong pump and air bladders as the sides, but the position of these air bags pumping up to some really high pressure and being opposed by your own body weight really does have an effect on sore glutes. The air bags constantly pressurize (quickly) and then release the pressure, as if to kneed out your glutes. Good feature, and has 3 levels of adjustment for pressure only, no movement. Sounds pretty good so far, why am I returning this? Well first of all, with only slight pressure, the right pair of shiatsu balls on my back pop/slip while doing their rotating thing during massage. Probably a defect, maybe something that could be corrected by opening up the mechanism. No interest in getting it corrected because of other reasons driving me to return the product. The second reason for returning is that this massager AUTOMATICALLY SHUTS OFF AFTER 15 MINUTES OF USE. Im not sure if that is to prevent overheating, but there is no way to clear off this programmed 15 minute timer that counts down without any display. The 3rd and probably biggest reason for returning is that this entire massaging seat cover is THE WORST THING to sit on unless you are using it for a active massage. So once those 15 minutes are up, either restart it, or get up and take this thing off the chair or sofa. The shiatsu balls do not have any sort of "home" position, so wherever they stop is where they remain until turned back on. This is also a MAJOR ISSUE if you only want to use the neck massager, or the glute vibration with air bags because the back shiatsu will be sitting there stabbing you in the back. This also goes for the neck shiatsu balls, they just stay where they are. Very uncomfortable. I bought this thinking I could just leave this on my computer chair, or sofa seat and just have it there when I want to turn it on. That is just not the case, and if this item is not plugged it and operating, I would rather be sitting in a toybox full of lego pieces. I hope this completely unbiased and honest review helps someone, as it really is a good product, but I guess my expectations of it being a great massager that could still be sat on while turned off was too much. But if any of you are looking for a good massager for neck/back/butt that lasts for only 15 minutes until you need to remove it from the chair and store it somewhere until next use, this is a great choice!

Excelente masaje
Espectacular!
