Works perfectly
Replaced a bad capacitor in my Amana rooftop combo AC|Heat unit. I tested the original capacitor and it failed. I tested this on upon arrival and it was within specifications. Installed in just a few minutes and solved my AC problem. My AC was making terrible noise and not cooling. Upon inspection, the main fan in the top of the unit (condenser fan?) was not activating. When I turned it manually, it would start spinning like normal. I originally suspected a bad fan but research led me to check the capacitor which was the culprit.

AmRad 35+5.0MFD USA2227, but it is not the one in the picture with 3 terminals, this has 4.
I gave this a 4 mainly because it is not the one in the picture with 3 terminals, I received 2 caps that had 4 terminals. The orange CPT (Compressor Protector Terminal) is used with a hard start kit. Didn't need that version or model, but if these last the same length of time as the 3 terminal ones, I guess that just fine. In the future if the compressor needed a hard start kit, this cap would already be in place for that. I used one already that fit perfectly like the old one (Comp was 35.5mfd & Fan was 5.2mfd) on a 240V hotel thought the wall version ac unit. The fan ran fine, but compressor wouldn't start, I bypassed the relay and when plugged back in, I heard I slight hum, then nothing. I added a single 35mfd cap to make it run until I got these in. If one side of a duel run capacitor is bad, the other probably won't last long, so replace the whole thing and have some peace of mind. The only issue I might have run into is the number of wire connectors for the common with that tall black plastic surrounding it (in pic. 7). If you have 4 normal connectors or less, you'll be fine. I had 5 wires, 1 wire connector had a piggyback terminal with another wire, but easy fix, turn it the opposite way so the extra blade one sits in the middle of that 4 blade post connector. The one I have left is in the pictures has another place to go. The 5mfd for fan is right on the money, but I kinda don't like the fact that the comp. side measured 34.6mfd (I know they have +10% & -5% tolerances), but over time that will drop and if it goes below 33.25, that might start to affect the performance of the compressor. I've had the same capacitors in a Trane ac central heat-pump system for 25 years. Of course in 1995 they made things real good back then, heck had a 800cca Motorcraft battery in a new SUV that lasted 10 YEARS, the replacement (same brand) didn't even go 1 year. To sum it up, these were the cheapest of the best I could fine. Made in U.S.A. Also went ahead and gave these 5 star for longevity. I've used a few single run AmRad oval ones to replace ge genteq capacitors on squirrel cage fans in central ac units. You could spin them and they would keep going, but as soon as the power shut off and restarted, they would sit still and hum. And those have run almost 2 years with no issues with this brand.

Works fantastic.
I installed this capacitor to replace a defective one on my son's air conditioning system. The HVAC guy said the entire unit needed to be replaced because it was "unrepairable". Thirty dollars for this capacitor and the unit is running and cooling just fine. Saved my son thousands.

This start capacitor cleared up my AC compressor popping the breaker at startup. Old one broke.
Totally satisfied with this purchase. I could not believe that the actual part number worked for finding this capacitor. It was an exact replacement for the original capacitor. A ten minute install, and I was up and running. This saved me a 400 dollar service call. However, working within a 240 volt AC compressor unit may not be a typical DIY job, these voltages are dangerous for the unqualified.

Saved money and it works
Came home from a weekend trip to a hot house. Realized that the AC wasn't working. After doing some research online, I did some tests to determine that it was most likely a failed capacitor. I was able to get it delivered in a couple of days and install it in no time. Saved me a decent amount of money being able to fix my ac by myself rather than having a technician come out.

This capacitor saved us an AC service call on the weekend! Will order another.
After my husband replaced the capacitor on our AC unit here in South Florida, I figure we saved over $100, which is normally the cost of the service call, less the parts. So far, it appears all is working well, and we are very happy. I will order another one just in case this one goes out. In South Florida with all the Lightening and power surges, power has a tendency go out and then come back on. We were told this surge can cause the capacitor to weaken. Glad we had a spare. It took my husband about 15 minutes to replace the old one. Lets hope it last more than three years, but if not, we'll have one handy.

Air Condition Capacitor Replacement
I used the information on the existing cap. However, the replacement has an additional feature. I followed the vendor's instructions on how to install it, and it is working as expected. Before this purchase, I had the same part replaced on my second unit, (we have 2 systems in the house) it cost an additional 200$ on our annual service calls.
