The kkue-1169 Elder Futhark Runes set includes two card sets designed for learning and readings, featuring both upright and reversed meanings. ## Description

The Futhark Runes are a centuries old system for self discovery and divination. This set of symbols dates back to Norse mythology from ancient times. At last there is a way to learn the meanings and associations of the runes quickly and easily. The Living Magick Learning Card Series is the key to mastering topics by getting the basics deep into your memory and enabling you to then expand your studies more effectively. Their motto is, "Don't just "look it up"... Learn It!" This deck has two parts. The first is a series of flash cards for each of the 24 traditional Runes, plus the modern addtion of the "Wyrd" rune for those who choose to use it. Each card includes the runic symbol on one side and on the other, its name, pronunciation, theme, keyword associations, properties and reversed meaning (if applicable). The second part of the deck is a "Rune Set" for doing readings, or "Rune Castings". These cards have just the rune on one side, and are blank on the other. These enable you to do rune readings with the cards without needing a separate rune set. There is also a booklet with additional indepth information and a suggested reading list. The cards are large, 3.75”x5.25” and come in a sturdy “lift-off cover” box for storage. They are printed on heavy duty, coated card stock for long term durability. The Futhark Runes Learning Card Deck is intended to be used as a self study guide for committing the meanings and associations of the symbols to memory ~ Supplement this deck with the Living Magick "Runes Quick Reference Sheet". Living Magick Publishing also has Learning Card Decks and Quick Reference Sheets for studying Astrology, Crystals & Stones, Numerology, Oghams, Tarot, Tarot Reversals, and the Tree of Life.

Review: Good tool for learning runes and nice alternative to actual rune stones. - These are an excellent set of cards for learning and practicing rune casting/divination. I was particularly happy with the two separate sets, one for learning and one for readings, in case one doesn’t have or intend on purchasing actual runes. I have worked with runes and these cards work just as well, better for my purposes because I use these in addition to tarot/oracle readings. The learning set contains the rune symbol on one side and the fundamentals on the other, written with clear language and useful keywords and phrases. The casting set have the rune symbol on one side and are blank on the other. For ‘casting’ I do not bother to shuffle, since the deck volume is quite small as compared to a tarot deck, for example. I simply spread the cards on the table, symbol side down, then swirl them around with both hands until I feel certain cards resonating as the cards to cast. It works quite well. You can also pick one card as a single focus reading. Also, I chose to trim the white border from the casting set, as well as round the corners with a We R Memory Keepers card corner punch tool ($10 here on desertcart). I used the 4mm punch, which gave a nice look to the rune cards. I also edged the cards with an espresso brown art marker (I chose the Tim Holtz Distress Marker in Espresso), which matched the brown border and gave a beautiful finished look to the deck. I left the ‘learning’ set as is to differentiate. I’m very pleased with the outcome and very pleased with this set of cards.

The delivery to me here in the UK was excellent I cannot think why no one in this country has not thought of creating something like this.

I was trying to learn the futhark runes and these are great. I bought them on impulse a little and didn’t read everything, so I was happily surprised there are actually two sets of cards, one set for leaning and another for divination. Very good buy for anyone Interested in Nordic lore.
