Not a good quality remote

I bought this remote in the US... firstly we could not get the back open... it was so tight I had to use a knife to pry it open .... finally after a struggle ... got the batteries in... paired it with the tv... all the function works except the power button to put on and off.... this is so frustrating .... I wasted my money!!!!
