Great Multi-use Tool
I know that this tool is intended for gardening, but it works really well for thoroughly and quickly fluffing rice, while incorporating wet canned dog food. I could not find an oversized fork, with more than two prongs to do this job. Luckily, I stumbled onto this product while searching for, yet, another outdoor tool that I will also use for another purpose. While you might not use this hand rake for mixing rice, I hope that I do help clarify some details that I read in other reviews for this product: #1 The handle is unfinished. One person commented that they were afraid to use it because they didn't want to get any splinters. Another reviewer posted that his unfinished handle had been stained by dirt. (I'm not sure why that really matters since most people normally wear gloves and the rake was made to dig around in dirt anyways, whatev. To each, his own.) That is not the condition of my hand rake. While it does have a natural look to it, it also feels sleek to the touch and a sheen, telling me that it does have a finish on it. It is highly unlikely that I would get any splinters or that the handle would become stained with can dog food or otherwise. #2 The welds that attach the prongs to a single metal piece that enters into the wooden handle are of a shoddy nature. I do not detect any single, separate welding points on the prongs. The metal claw that goes into a single rod appears to be of one continuous forged piece of metal. It does not seem likely that the prongs would break off due to that reason. #3 The attachment into the wooden handle is substandard. Again, the quality of this tool is top notch and there is no wiggling or loose movement between the metal rake part and the wooden handle. I do not necessarily need the sharp points on the ends of the prongs, but they are an added benefit in breaking up the rice and dog food. I'm certain that they can easily break up packed dirt in your gardens. I would also like to further compliment the heavy duty design of this product. I would even go so far to say that it is so well made that it could be theoretically used on the end of a pole for large garden projects. If I were to use it outside, I would not be afraid to really abuse this thing without the fear of it breaking it. I don't really think I need to obviously state it, but I truly believe that this buy is a good value for the money. It's easy to use, has a good, heavy duty weight to it, a comfortable sized handle grip and good sharp points on the end. Overall, I am thoroughly happy about my purchase.

My favorite garden tool.
Love it so far. Hope it doesn't break as another reviewer experienced. I bought this during the winter, just tried it out today. Great as a mini rake for pulling woodchips back over a newly planted tree. Also good for mixing compost into the normal soil before inserting the bagged tree root ball. The tines spread out fairly wide and so are very efficient. The ends are sharpish, which helps when mixing hard compacted soil in with the mulch. Glad I bought it. UPDATE: Months later, this is my favorite hand tool for gardening, and I have a few expensive gardening tools. I find lots of uses for it beyond why I bought it. I'm thinking of buying a 2nd one so I have one in each hand when picking up and spreading great globs of mulch. I can be Edward Scissorhands. It's great for digging hard soil around tough weeds such as thistle so you can get a better grip on the root. I use it for digging holes for planting tree seedlings as it's more efficient than my expensive all steel trowels, and doesn't compact the soil around the edges of the hole. The one downside is that the tool blends in with the surroundings, and I keep misplacing it. It would be a wicked thing to step on accidentally, which I have come close to doing several times. I'll have to paint the handle a nice bright yellow so I don't lose it altogether. UPDATE: 'well it happened. Buying 2 more of these 'cause I did indeed lose the first one. Hope it's not on the ground somewhere where I - or the deer -- might step on it. The tines are wicked. This time I will dip the handles in a bright color paint. Other than that, this has been the bomb. I wish Joy Mangano would get a version of this marketed with a long handle and a wider set of tines to be used in a standing position. It would be perfect for spreading huge amounts of mulch - a 5-acre project I'm currently facing. I gather from other reviews that the manufacturer has a little qc problem, but the preferred Dewitt brand costs 3 times as much as this one, at least on Amazon. I'll take my chances on the Asano brand again since the one I had held up to some heavy digging as well as raking, and I have hard clay/gravel substrate here. It is also very comfortable to hold onto.

Nicely made and effective claw tool
Very well made. The claws are sharp. The handle is made of wood. It is a typically beautiful Japanese tool, well-designed. This tool has a little heft, it's not cheap-feeling. I paid about $9 and feel like it was more than worth its price. The claws mean business, and it was very effective removing the burgeoning weed seeds we get here in southern California after the Spring rains. Very happy with this tool. So pleased it's not a cheap piece of plastic.

Great garden helper
I really like this rake. It goes deep and really helps to loosen the weeds and roots. Wish the handle was a little longer, but that's okay, just means getting a little closer to nature. 😉 it looks just like the picture in the ad and came in a sealed plastic bag with plastic covers on the tips to prevent injury or cuts. The prongs are as expected and perfectly spaced. It is sturdy and will hold up well.

Love, love, love!
Forget the funky squared off cheapy hand rakes. This thing is wonderful for mixing dirt, digging, pulling moss, light surface raking in tight spots, loosening soil for planting or weeding. Feels good in the hand and works very well. Joins my stable of tools that do several things perfectly.

Japanese Ninja Claw
Exactly what I was searching for after I inadvertently ran over my former tool with the lawn mower. Works very well for uprooting crap grass in my flower beds. Perfect size and very sturdy.

Solide outil à main, aussi efficace pour gratter, désherber, que bêcher. Sur sol argileux, calcaire et caillouteux.

Exactly as described and exactly what I was looking for. A bit on the heavy side, but I'm told that's a good thing when I need to dig a little.

Transmite calidad. Herramienta de mano para rozar el terreno y así dejar el suelo más suelto. Tambien rompe raices de malas hierbas, aunque no las arranca
