The fibers on the brush of our Nomad Tool are synthetic hair. -The MusicNomad Team **Q: The pocket on my case isn’t all that long. What’s the length, please? Can you purchase them separately (4 tools) vs. two (2 tools) double-sided?** A: The larger tool is 9 inches or 22.86 centimetres and second tool is 8 inch or 20.32 centimetres - likely too long for your case box I am not sure if these tools can be acquired separately best to check with Manufacturer **Q: Can you use them to apply fret board conditioner without removing the strings?** A: Don't use this thing to apply any sort of liquid guitar treatments, it's meant for dry wipe-downs. Actually, I'd recommened you don't use it at all, but that's another story (see my review). I always remove then replace all strings during fretboard maintenance, since I also polish the frets themselves at the same time prior to applying oil. Everything is just so much easier to access and clean that way. The shape and contour of these brushes is perfect for, Les Pauls, to Super Strats, and everything in between. I've got to be honest, I dislike a lot of products that are aimed at musicians, as they tend to be poorly thought out, cash grabs, targeted towards noobies and the uninitiated. These are not one of those items. As a 30+ year player, there is one thing I cannot stand... that is a dirty guitar. I HATE the specks of dust and dead skin that can litter a Floyd Rose bridge, or the pick shrapnel and whatever-powder is found between, and sometimes under a TOM bridge and pickups... Nothing gets me more irritated than to see an otherwise spotless guitar in my collection, ruined in appearance by the dust of the ancients, under the strings of the headstock, where a mear mortal cloth cannot effectively reach! This tool, will cure these ills and sooth the conscience of even the most OCD, guitarist, and any other instrumentalist, for that matter. The brush is excellent for removing dust in every single, nook and oriface. The microfiber, tab, is excellent and the perfect size and firmness to de-gunk your precious axe. All silliness and verbosity aside, everything I've said above is true and I really do love this quality brush set.
