EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY, EXCEPT THE NETWORK
NEW LOOKING PHONE, DIDN'T COME IN ORIGINAL BOX BUT PERFECTLY GOOD. LOOKS LIKE NEW. ALL INFORMATION TRANSFERRED AUTOMATICALLY, WHICH YOU DO USING SAMSUNGS APP, AND YOU DONT LOSE THE INFORMATION ON THE SENDING PHONE. THIS PHONE DOESNT HAVE AN ESIM CAPABILITY SO YOU NEED TO CONTACT YOUR CARRIER FOR THE SIM CARD, IN MY CASE OPTIMUM. WAITED 3 DAYS FOR THE CARD, INSTALLED IT AND WAS TOLD BY THE AGENT THAT THIS PHONE (EIN) IS NOT USABLE ON THEIR NETWORK, UNLOCKED ASIDE. RTA'd. (returned)

all the right stuff
This is my second Note 9, first of all. My last one is still actually fully functional except for where i smashed the poor thing against the corner of a countertop trying to prevent it from falling 4 ft. which by the way, i have done so many times i cant count and this little phone just keeps chugging along. So i purchased a new one so that I can do schoolwork on the run. I was scared believe me, to buy this online. Thegadgetstore has a lot of great reviews and promised a great phone. PERFECT and in like new condition...even as its sold as renewed. Not a scratch on her, with the film still on the screen. It came with the little tab opener for the SD and SIM card slot and a fast charger. When I turned it on, it started up just like new, to set up. It charged within an hour to full. No heating or flickering screen. No bloatware. Here's a fantastic thing that happened and I hope they dont call me to say I owe them more money...the phone is listed as 128gb....and its actually 512gb. I cant believe my luck. I love this little phone...and with the only phones in the galaxy class with an S pen being the ridiculously overpriced S23 ultras....for $199 I have this wonderful phone that is fast, good quality, great camera and sound for music and watching movies on my downtime at work. The battery life is fantastic and it came with McAfee scan protection (even though i have Nord VPN). This is a great phone and I bought a tough case from UBpro that has a front screen cover that doesnt interfere one iota with screen sensitivity...and it keeps this phone encased like fort knox. Thanks the gadgetstore...this was a fantastic buy!!

Great Device, with two minus
So purchased this phone on 8/21/2020, Its a great upgrade from my S8+, better battery, camera, ram, processes, and already upgraded to android 10 and Samsung UI 2.0 right out of the box, and soon UI 2.5 when released "Showing that Samsung will support the Note 9 and the S9 and 9+ for those that are wondering for one more upgrade. The one came with everything that was mention a charging cable and brick and a preinstalled screen protector. Cosmetically the phone back and front glass looks brand new, but the side aluminum railing looks worn especially near the charge port and one corner which made me think that maybe phone was dropped at one point previously "Reason i am giving it a 4 starts a little worn in those charge ports and i would give a 5 but it has significant paint missing near the charge port" Phone was a UNLOCKED model which many people complained about, which a lot of people complained they did not receive make sure you choose fully unlocked not GSM, or any of the carrier and you wont have that issue that many gave a bad review on. i do wish that it did come with the needle extractor for the note pin "because that is i believe an important feature to have "another reason i gave it a 4 stars" now it not coming with any headphones i am ok with because refurbished headphones sounds bad lol. But all in all i do think its worth the 350-400$ price tag. i mean it is a refurbished phone through amazon after all. If you want refurbished that looks brand new and gets everything go to Samsung web page and pay the extra 120$ if you want, but for most people this is a good price to quality for what you are getting.. i would recommend getting this but remember the cons i gave which is the aluminum rails can look worn like mine where the paint is missing "mine is near the charge port and one of the corners and you do not get the Samsung extraction tool for the pin to remove the tip." Other then that its a great phone to get in my opinion, those two minus are the reason i gave it 4 stars and not 5.

Refurbished phone in excellent condition is not worth the money.
I bought and received this phone in October. The phone worked okay for exactly 35 days then stopped connecting to the network. I can only use the phone if I am connected to WiFi. I had until November 24 to send it back. It stopped working November 30.

The only thing about the shipping is I wish they would have put some bubble wrap in the bigger box that they placed the packaged phone in. The Phone was in excellent condition. No marks or cracks on the phone body or the screen. I liked that the phone arrived with out most of the bloatware that is installed when you buy from a telecom. It worked right out of the box and only had a few updates to do. It was very easy to transfer all my information from my old Note 8 to this new Note 9 with Samsung switch and it was up and running right away. It also included a USB cable and a plug and the pick to insert the sim cards. It did not include the ear phones that came with it when you buy from Samsung but every thing else was good except a manual. It also came with some Microsoft software that I wish was not included in the operating system but only 4 apps. You cant uninstall them just disable them. But a lot less of the bloatware then other phones I have bought. I would purchase from this supplier again.

I received mine last week. The Note9 that I have now, has been doing fine since 2018. I just thought I'd get another one in case this one decided to retire. It doesn't show any signs of it, but I got a second phone anyway. The phone has a clean screen. No notch, no cutout, no teardrop, no pinhole-- just screen, with a couple of modest, evenly-sized bezels. Only my opinion but I really don't understand the current love affair with screen warts on most of these latter-day candybar phones. I find them ugly and depressing. The camera is ok when in good light, especially indoors. Outside, it can be another story. I was trying to get pictures of an early morning sky when rain clouds were moving in while the sun was coming up. There was a certain amber color that the Note9's camera couldn't capture. This is always disappointing. You can do some post-editing to make it look a little better, but it still won't look like what the eyes are seeing. That beautiful golden amber hue just does not come through. However, if you get the right angle of morning or afternoon sunlight, and sometimes even on overcast days, the results can be more than acceptable. Getting the Note9 to recognize your irises is an exercise in trial and error, but eventually it does work, and when it does, it works well enough. So like any decent phone, you can look at the Note9, and it will unlock. In the audio settings, there is a nine-band equalizer, plus a toggle to mimic a concert hall effect, and another switch to emulate the sound of a tube amplifier. It's a warm yet punchy sound that gives the phone extra authority when you're playing tunes over Bluetooth. I did test the ultra high quality setting (UHQ) and as far as I can hear, it makes no difference through wired phones. For Bluetooth, the option is grayed out. Maybe it's more useful when you're trying to make really low bitrate mp3s sound better, I don't know. Maybe UHQ was Samsung's way of saying 'dithering'. I do know that UHQ, the concert hall toggle, and the tube amp switch are gone from later Galaxy phones. Too bad, because the last two options are pretty nice to have in the Note9. Btw, in case some people weren't sure, there *is* a headphone jack, plus an sd card slot for external storage. It's in the SIM tray. I don't know how many new phones can boast those features anymore. The phone doesn't suffer too badly in the speaker category; there are two of them, that's left + right = stereo, not some bottom-firing mono piece of ***t. How much do some "new" phones cost these days - and they send out from one bottom tweeter, and not too clearly either. OneUI Home has come a long way. But you might want to try one of the third-party launchers. Nova and Apex dial up the Note9's looks and usability in ways you might prefer over the default skin. The S-Pen has some magic of its own and you might wonder how you did without it. It's precise, especially as a finger replacement. If only they'd given it a longer-lasting battery. Btw, even if the S-pen needs a recharge, it will go on being able to manipulate the screen like always - it's the air commands that will stop working, until you reinsert the pen. If the S-Pen disconnects, and you try to reconnect, and it makes you wait, only to tell you that it couldn't connect, go to Settings, find Apps, find Google Play services, tap "force stop". It will seem to ignore you but never mind. Now try to insert the pen again. This time it should work. Be warned that apps will stop abruptly when you do this. Things like your favorite streaming app will have to be restarted, but imo it's less of a bother than rebooting the phone. If you like dark mode in apps, including ones that don't support it, you'll likely have noticed it went away when you restarted the phone. In case you don't know the steps to get Dark mode back for apps, go into Settings, down where it says 'About phone', choose 'software information' , 'build number'. tap that one about 7 times to enable Developer Options, which should now be visible at the bottom of the main Settings screen. Tap Developer Options and use the magnifying glass to find 'force dark mode'. Once found, toggle 'force dark mode' to the right. Done. But you'll have to redo it next time you restart or turn off the phone. I found a way to disable the Bixby button without installing any extra software. Look in the battery settings, under 'app power management', tap on 'deep sleeping apps', then the + sign, add Bixby Home and Bixby Vision to the list. Note that this completely disables the Bixby button, so it can't be reassigned to any other functions. For that, you'll need to nevermind this method, and look on the Play Store for some appropriate button remapper. Come this October (2023) my Note9 will be five years old and probably still working, while the second N9 waits to take over. I believe in phones that last, even in this mad era when flagship devices are declared obsolete in six months. Imo, obsolescence occurs when something dies or just stops being useful. The Note9 has done neither.

Got this phone to replace my Huawei p20 pro. Was used to front mounted fingerprint sensor but am finding the rear mounted one on this phone is more comfortable to use. The camera has a "single shot" feature that automatically pics out the best pics and small clip videos over a set time which I thought was pretty cool. Am loving the stylus function as I can edit things quickly on the go, or let my daughter play with the coloring book when she's bored. Phone is very responsive, with a very good battery life, and beautiful display. Absolutely a worthwhile phone and I highly recommend 👍
