Review: Great car carpet cleaner - I was going to comment on the review that convinced me to buy this machine but now I can’t find it! So here’s My scoop: Small and lightweight Lots of attachments Everything can be stored inside the vacuum if you need the space Easy to switch from dry to wet Very cost-effective for what it is Hose is a little short for cars but since the back is so light weight you can just put it on Other seat So I used it to clean my 2005 car with 150,000 miles on it And I have 2 x 50 pound dogs that have made a couple trips to the vet No, it didn’t pick up all the dog hair but it did a pretty good job I used a squeeze bottle and some non-sudsing soap mixed with water (simple green) on the carpets and got them fairly soaked i used a nylon bristle scrub brush to work the soap and water into the carpet and to raise up the pile I let it soak in and worked my way all the way around the car. When I got back to the original seat I sucked up all the dirty water until the carpet was almost dry That got up almost all of the rest of the dog hair and all my spots are gone and my carpet looks brand new in most spots except for where it’s really worn down under the drivers Mat My car looks better than the last time I paid somebody to detail it. I didn’t have to use my carpet cleaner in the car which is cumbersome to use number one and number two I don’t think I want all the outside gunk and oil and all that other junk that seems to get into cars carpets to get in my inside carpet cleaner . And because it’s lightweight and small size we’ve already use it for other various tasks around the house like vacuuming out the dryer vent. In one use alone it has saved me the cost of having somebody professionally detailed the car. quite frankly, you can’t get the car that clean with vacuuming alone as I got it using the Wet feature. **Q: If I want to use this in my car with a power inverter, what wattage inverter do I need?  I can't find any info on the power draw in the description.**
A: DON'T - what you ask is a fire hazard. ANY corded vac will pull too much power through the inverter, and even if the inverter can handle it your vehicle's wiring isn't designed for it.  By the way, of the inverters that promise 250 watts or more, ONLY do so if you directly connect the inverter to the vehicle battery. Sounds less convenient now, huh?  It is not a coincidence that vacuums made for vehicle accessory plugs, are low powered. My Subaru for example is limited to 120W ports. If you NEED cordless with power, consider one that runs off "shop tool batteries" so you have a powerful system that uses common, easy to replace batteries (the DeWalt vac is 3X the cost of this cheap thing, and the battery/charger is extra if you don't already have battery tools).

**Q: How strong is the suction for this vacuum?**
A: - I got mine in May 2016, and it still is strong! Its motor actually has the same HP rating as those of several larger and more expensive units.   Frankly, I think it's as strong as my M***e ((name masked for obvious  legal reasons, LOL!)) - of course, I do check and clean the seal fairly regularly, and I use it with a "pre-fliter" ((explained below)) plus a bag inside the vacuum itself, rather than relying solely on the included cloth filter since I use it inside the house as a dust-collector for my "creative activities" - which basically means, my hobby of making sawdust ;).   But I *have* accidentally picked up some fairly heavy items with it, such as bolts and large steel nuts.  The main thing is that it doesn't include a motor-speed controller.  I have not tried plugging it into an external controller because, whether I'm using it for hobby-stuff-dust-collection, or, due to it's light weight, using it to do household vacuuming, I *want* it on Full.  If I want an adjustable-speed vacuum, or want to use the floor attachment(s), I use the M***e.    - Both the inner bag-holder and the pre-filter are "hacks" I dreamed up - I use super-filtering bags in my M***e that remove particles as fine as smoke.  But they are loose if just slipped over the port inside the vacuum's body.  The hack?  Layers of heavy/thick rubber bands - the suction pulls the bag against the "bump" and that both keeps it from slipping off, and also improves the seal between the edge of the bag hole, and the port.  --- The "pre-filter" is 2 coffee cans, one stacked on top of the other; the lid of the bottom one has a hole with an emptied cylindrical prescription bottle which is adapted to hold onto the bag and the air is spun by a jury-rigged funnel which opens into the bag; on the other side of the bottom lid, there's a a hole that lets air be pulled out ((to create the suction)).  The bottom lid has a ridge on it onto which the top coffee can "nests". Duct tape goes around that part to both seal it, and hold the upper can in place.  The hacked-funnel-air-spinner-widget is inside the top can, and the end of a used heavy-duty CPAP hose runs from that collector part to the scroll saw port or whatever tool or hacked "grinding cabinet", etc. I'm using.  There is a second hole in the lid of the top can that I deliberately made smallish, and forced the end of the Shop-Vac hose into that, so it seals pretty well.   - ANYHOO, the end result is that the motor does not get clogged with fine dust particles that would sneak past, or through, the included cloth filter.   - So that has kept it operating pretty well, even when I run it for very long ((1 to 2 hours, occasionally more)) periods of time. - I can't say anything about vacuuming-up water/liquids, though, because I've used my Floor Mate for that. - I bought mine from Amazon Warehouse Deals as a "used" item, BTW, and it's been excellent.   - I *have* observed a phenomenon on Amazon where identical items will receive different ratings when one vendor is charging a higher price than another.  That's one of the things one needs to watch out for when reading reviews.     - I hope that helps!  :)

**Q: How well does this pick up dog hair out of car upholstery?**
A: I bought this to clean my car (its perfect), but it is also excellent for vacuuming cat/dog hair on fabric furniture. What I found is I kept going out to the garage to get it (because its so portable) to reuse it in my house to the vacuum all my furniture. So far really pleased with the versatility/portability of it, and the attachments all work really well. So its an excellent light weight, multipurpose vacuum.

**Q: does this come with a bag and is the bag reusable?**
A: Yes, it comes with 2 bags, a cloth bag for dry vacuuming, and a foam bag for wet vacuuming. They are both re-usable.

This thing SUCKS! I wouldn't doubt that it could suck a golf ball through a garden hose. OK enough jokes. This vacuum is pretty frigging good. It has quite a bit of suction power, even with the attachments. I use it to vacuum my cars and it does a GREAT job! For starters, the electrical cord is about 10 feet, which is nice. Though for most applications, you'll likely still need an extension cord. The suction power is pretty impressive. And it's not much louder than your normal vacuum. It's not blaringly loud, but at the same time it's not whisper quiet. The vacuum hose is adequately long at about 6 feet. Even better, the end of the hose rotates. This makes using it with attachments so much easier as you don't kink the hose as easily. Speaking of attachments, it comes with everything most will need for simple cleaning. It should be said that there is no extension tube as many other vacuums have. That seems to be the only attachment missing. The vacuum does well with a mix of wet and dry vacuuming. I was able to vacuum up sand on a carpet, followed by standing water, then back to a sandy carpet. It also did a thick wet mixture quite well. The collection bucket holds quite a large amount while still being easy to handle. You can carry the unit around while vacuuming, but I'm sure most will set it down before vacuuming. If you're the type to place the unit on the ground before vacuuming, know that it does NOT slide well on the ground. You can give it tugs to drag it along, but know that it's going to give a bit of resistance throughout the process. In short, this was a great buy! I heard a few guys praising it prior to my purchase, so when I initially purchased this, I had high hopes and was ready to discredit most of its workings. I can honestly say that after using this to clean 5 vehicles, and a few household messes, this vacuum holds its own exceptionally well. This is definitely a winner and a great buy, especially for the budget minded who wants to get the best bang for their buck. If I have to mention something negative about the unit, it would be 2 things. 1. I don't like that there isn't enough room to dump all the attachments inside the trash collector of the unit when not in use. Instead, I have to affix them to the top of the unit where they stand tall and proud. 2. The "clamps" connecting the top of the unit and bottom trash collector can sometimes be a bit annoying to align and affix together. Not a big deal, and it's pretty obvious when it's not connected correctly, but every time I opened the unit, I felt myself really taking my time to ensure the two parts were correctly connected. Again small gripes with the unit. This just shows how well it was designed. As usual, if I run into any problems, I will update this review accordingly. But as of right now, things are going extremely well. UPDATE: After 2 years, this thing STILL runs like a champ. I don't only use it for my car, but I've also used it to clean up inside my home as well, even after light construction projects. This was truly an item worth buying. It's been invaluable over the past 2 years.
