Amazing find for men with wide feet!
Great white, wide & comfortable working shoes at an awesome price! The straps are a plus to me — no more endless tying and untying (as a driver).Order 1 full size up from your regular size as recommended. I have wide/"tall" feet and wear size 12 wide normally. I initially ordered size 13 extra wide and they were a little too wide on my feet, so I bought side 13 wide (instead of extra wide) and they're a perfect match. This is a much… much better fit/brand for wide feet than Shoes for Crews, for example, where I bought 3 pairs of "wide" shoes and all 3 fitted narrow like regular shoes/they suck. The water repelency is very nice too & the slip resistance works well. They're comfortable, offer good support and are stylish. I'm a 179cm tall, 86kg man.

Nice shoes
For a slip on shoe they’re pretty good. Rubber on the bottom so you don’t slip. Velcro makes them easy to put on.

Comfortable shoe that runs small
Bought this for my elderly uncle who usually wears a normal size 8-1/2 men’s shoe because his feet are not swollen like some seniors.I should have paid closer attention to the comments that the shoe runs small. His toes were at the end of the 8-1/2 shoe, and it was tight (narrow) even while wearing his thin dress socks. We ended up returning the 8-1/2 and replacing it with a 9, normal width. He finds them much more comfortable than his previous Velcro shoes (not Avis), and easy to put on/take off - after wearing them for three days. They are snug when he wears his thicker athletic socks but not uncomfortable, and we hope they stretch out over time.

Cantilever heel
As I walk, run and jump , I feel my heel act as the anchor of the cantilever and I feel the spring metal sole load up and as my toe leaves the ground the spring action pushes me onward and upward. What a shoe! If you are 6'2" as I am this will help you dunk!Avia made its name as a leading brand in the 1980s for its line of women's walking and aerobics shoes, as well as men's shoes. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Avia had a thriving line of basketball shoes; among those who wore Avia were Scottie Pippen, John Stockton, John Salley, AC Green, and Clyde Drexler.[10] Avia shoes are known for their performance, durability and comfort.[11] Former Louisiana State University Football head coach Les Miles wears Avia or Nike shoes while on the sidelines of every game. The company is also known for some of the performance technologies built into their shoes, including the Cantilever Heel (heel support), the ARC – Anatomical Rebound Cradle (comprehensive foot cushioning and arch support), and Avia's FOM technology (shock compression).[11]In 1991, Avia filed a lawsuit against Nike, alleging that Nike's ''Air 180'' and ''Air Force 180'' running and basketball shoes infringed upon Avia patents. Avia accused Nike of pirating its ''Cantilever'' technology, which uses a cushion to provide shock absorption and stability. The company contended the technology has been the basis of its products since Avia was founded in 1980. Avia widened the suit in January 1992[12] and settled in December 1992.[13]Avia introduced its line of performance and lifestyle activewear in 2013, building upon its continued success within the active category, and later came out with wearable technology in 2015.[14]

Great shoes, but falling apart
I purchased several pairs of Avia-Union II shoes and have worn them daily. Even at 70, I walk for hours each day and usually in the Avia shoes. Here is my review:Strengths:(1) Comfort. These shoes are amazingly comfortable walking. My "sample size" is large, because as stated above, I walk hours each day, 7 days a week in these shoes. And every time I walk in these shoes, I am still amazed at the degree of comfort. There is a great degree of padding that can be felt while walking.(2) Easy to Put On. The two velcro straps per shoe make it very easy to secure; much better than the standard shoe laces.(3) Price. For about $50, these shoes are a bargain.Weaknesses:(1) After about one year wearing these shoes almost every day, the shoes have started to separate at the toes on both shoes. So the shoes are falling apart.

Ideal Shoe for Adult KAFO Users
This review will not apply to most of you, but I hope it helps those who wear AFOs (Ankle-Foot-Orthotics) or KAFOs (Knee-Ankle-Foot-Orthotics), more commonly known as leg braces.I wear KAFOs on both legs. My KAFOs have a hinged metal ankle joint and an attached foot plate that is custom molded to fit each foot. See the photos. While my feet are rather small, the ankle joint and foot plate are bulky, so I require an extra wide shoe.In the past, I have purchased so-called "wide" shoes that were seldom wide enough and often required days or even weeks on a shoe stretcher before I could wear them. Even so, they were still a tight fit and not particularly comfortable. In addition, as those of you with AFOs or KAFOs probably know, bending to tie shoelaces can also be a pain in the ... back! These shoes solved both problems for me.I ordered two pairs of these from Amazon, one size 9 Wide and the other size 9 X-Wide. I should have known that the "Wide" pair would not be wide enough. Indeed, I returned them to Amazon right away. But the X-Wide pair is superb. The shoes easily fit over the ankle joint and foot plate of my leg braces. In addition, these shoes have a generous instep, so there is no unwanted pressure on the tops of my feet or toes. A painful bunion on my right foot is painful no more. As an added bonus, these shoes have Velcro closures rather than shoelaces. No more contortions when tying my shoes. And there is a SECOND added bonus: The shoes are made with slip-resistant soles. These shoes are available in the X-Wide width in men's sizes from 8 to 12. A similar shoe is available for women: https://www.amazon.com/Avia-Womens-Avi-Union-Strap-Service/dp/B07B4K2GQ4I can't guarantee that these shoes will work for every AFO or KAFO user. I can only say that they are the best off-the-shelf shoes that THIS KAFO user has found.

NOT YOUR GRANDPA’S VELCRO SHOE!!
I only have one hand so I can’t tie laces, needless to say these shoes are great for me! They may be Velcro but they’re stylish, not your grandpa’s Velcro shoes. Another great feature is the slip-resistant soles! The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is this: these shoes run narrow. So originally I ordered a “wide” but it was basically a normal width. So I returned and ordered an “extra wide” and they fit great! So order accordingly. “Extra Wide” is wide. “Wide” is normal. And “regular” is narrow. For the price, you can’t go wrong! I immediately went back and bought another pair for a backup.
