The only place they list it as in the Amazon product title. The guy who answered said that they get it from a supplier and re-package it. The supplier claims that it is grassfed. And that's as far as they go. I use it to make the BEST face cream in the world. **Q: Is this food grade?** A: I would say no. It’s rendered fat made for soap making and oiling wood. If you melt it and simmer it for 20 minutes, it should kill almost all bacteria and make it safe for cooking. BUT, that is if the rendered fat is not spoiled. It will have an acidic taste if it is and would not be safe to eat. Smell alone won’t let you know, usually. **Q: Has anyone tried making candles with this? Seller: do you recommend doing so?** A: Don’t know. I have only used it for soap making. **Q: Is the tallow from grass fed cows?** A: It says right on the label that it is grass fed. Whether it is 100% grass fed, I cannot tell you.
