I'll start with the negatives. This is antenna is a bit rough and ready. Some swarf in tapped holes and few sharp edges on threads here and there. Nothing to worry about though if you have an iq in double digits and the correct tools to assemble. I used some decent copper grease before screwing in the disc section tubing to avoid seizing should I ever want to disassemble in the future. I'd say definitely use some if this going outside and exposed to the elements. Mine isn't it will be loft bound due to non approving neighbours :) . Other points to note : this antenna doesn't come with a pl259 cable so if you don't have one make sure you purchase a pl259 male to whatever u require at the other end.Now the good.... Super easy assembly. Very light for a discone of this size. And the cost... Crazy cheap.Literally only tested for a few hours so far with an SDR as receiver as it only turned up today.. This is my first discone but wow I'm loving the crazy wideband characteristics of these types of aerials and the convenience this brings to scanning. Loft performance is absolutely fine for me but check insulation first if unsure. I'm lucky as it's an old house so for me it's just fibreglass stuff below and wood and tiles out to the world. You may have issues with an internal install if you have metallised shielded stuff up there but for me I don't and it's not an issue. Also the advantage of no winds damage etc so I'll take a trade on slight losses for peace of mind.For a tad under 40 quid you can't go wrong with this ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking Discone at Competitive Price! *by L***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 January 2020* I picked this up to use with a budget SDR radio dongle, this is the Ariel you need to bring those frequencies to life and hear more distant and fainter stations. I am only running it from a 6 foot patch lead right now but when the RG8 arrives and it is mounted in the loft it will be even better that it is now.
