Small Swiss Pill Cutter

This Swiss Pill Cutter is a very precise tool ,the only way to split ;small pills accurately, and worth every penny of the price. The bad reviews are likely from people who have not learned the simple skill that is required for accurate splits. Here is the procedure for cutting small round pills accurately. My Instructions for a round pill Place the pill in the smallest bed that has a little space left over. 1. Hold the cutter open, in your left hand, at an angle of about 45° (the pivot will be low on the left). 2. Place the pill into the pill bed with your right hand. (If the pill is scored align the split with the blades.) The pill should be balanced against the lowered end of the pill bed and the lower blade at the same time. When placed this way, the pill will will automatically be centered. 3. Gently lower the upper blade onto the pill, trapping the pill in the centered position. 4. Gently, but firmly press down the upper blade to complete the cut. The bad reviews have apparently caused this Swiss Pill Cutter company to go out of business. I hope the company comes back into business because without this splitter there is no way to accurately split a small pill.

I followed the instructions to the letter and all I get is uneven halving or crushed pills. Maybe with coated medications it would work better. I bought two of the "cheaper" plastic cutters and both performed better than this. Just because it is expensive doesn't mean it works.

I bought it to cut pills into quarters. I was willing to pay the high price vs this item to do that based on what I read. It was no better than the substantially cheaper products I had used previously. It is hard to position on the cutter and it doesn't cut each pill cleanly.

Good for really small pills, not so good on medium to large ones.

Good: It cuts really hard pills with rubber-like coating (ie, Levitra) very well. I could not get any other cutter to work very well, would always somewhat crumble the pill. Razor blades are not tough enough to cut really hard pills. Cons: Not easy to hold a "half piece" in place accurately to cut into quarters. Cutting a whole pill into halves was reasonably easy, but quarters take some skill to hold them evenly for cutting. It is a precision product, but way over-priced in my opinion. However, when you have a product no one else has matched, you can obviously get more for it.

An AMAZING and really "nifty" little device. Splits our pills in half very cleanly without crumbling -- we were also able to cut our dog’s small pills in quarters. We've had nice, consistent results -- so much better than we were getting with a couple of the plastic pill cutters we tried. Definitely worth the price.

I have to half 2.5 pimobendan.They have a hard, enamel like coating. They are also diamond shaped. This cutter didn’t work. One side crumbled and the other side was larger than half. It is a very expensive cutter, but had it worked It would be worth it. But I would like to receive a refund. Ps. I tried it quite a few times in all the different slots, in all possible directions.

Within minutes of delivery, I was using the pill cutter. It worked beautifully! The directions are clear, and the pills were cut perfectly. Well worth the price of the item. I will be assured of accurate dosing.
