It is still as loud as before, just amplifying the low tones and removing most high pitched raspy notes. The material and welds are amazing quality and I am extremely impressed for the price and quality of sound. Review: Better than I expected - I have to give these mufflers a five star. I watched a lot of videos before buying them but you never know what to expect after putting them on. I replaced the mid mufflers with the vibrant and did a rear muffler delete. The start up sounds awesome, not too loud and has a great growling sound. I also went with 4 inch tips. I found that you will get a lot of sound inside the car. It's been a couple of weeks now and the sound seems to be mellowing out some. At first I thought I might have made a mistake in doing this. I don't know what it actually sounds like going down the road yet. I have heard it going through a underpass and it sounds fantastic. I can't complain about the inside noise that's just part of changing the exhaust system, just be prepared. At least that's how it was for me when I bought it. **Q: Is this 2.25?** A: Yes, I have 2 1/4 pipe and it fits inside the ends of this unit. **Q: I am replacing the stock resonator with the 1790 because my Flowmaster muffler is not loud enough. Overall I'm pleased with my setup ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unique and wonderful in every way *by T***R on March 22, 2015* After having spent a year building my exhaust through trial and error, this resonator is the only thing between my engine and everyone else's eardrums. With just straight pipe my exhaust had a very metallic sound, like someone was banging on a large metal pipe, but this resonator solved that problem. I tried several other ideas and brands and everything else had weird effects, some made it sound like I had a half inch exhaust on a k20 or something. This Vibrant resonator was able to take just a bit of the higher end rasp and metallic sound out while still leaving it loud enough to bother people in another state. All in all I would highly recommend anything Vibrant sells, definitely worth their low cost. Especially if you're going for noise, companies like magnaflow or borla, etc, all just have these weird effects that ruin it for me.
