Invisible Hinge

Used these to build a hidden door in my basement. I'm so surprised at how smooth and solid these hinges are. The door I built is massive, and heavy. I'd say it weighs about 100 lbs and I only used 2 of these. I've been opening and closing the door at least a half dozen times a day and it hasn't sagged or done anything weird at all. It's handling it like the door is weightless. Incredible. So happy I found these. Extremely high quality product that is worth every penny.

These are excellent very strong hinges. However, you do need a template to install. I used a template from MinnPrint on Etsy and it made install a breeze!

We have an upstairs landing in our house that is door-heavy: 3 bedrooms and a laundry room. We wanted to conceal the French-doors of the laundry room and make it look like the wall so that the landing didn’t seem so crowded with doorways. These hinges definitely did the trick. While I wasn’t totally satisfied with how well the laundry doors blended into the wall, that had more to do with my contractor than with these hinges. Properly installed, the doors work smoothly without visible external hinges. Just be sure to order the quantity you need - I had assumed each order was 4 hinges but it is not. I was a little surprised by the price, and wish they were a little cheaper, but since we only needed them for that one door, it was okay.

These are really heavy duty. I didn't expect nearly the weight these have. Once installed, they look great. But, the key is probably an experienced installer. Frankly, you need to modify the door jam for heavier doors (i used four on a solid ~1.85" fire door to garage) if you are going flush without trim. This may be because the hinge sits so close to the edge of the jamb/wall and are so recessed that on the opening side you aren't bolting into anything... you're facing the side of the drywall up against your jamb (hence the need to modify). I'm just a weekend warrior when it comes to handy craft, but I found a lot of lessons necessary to get this just right. And if you are going to drop over $100 on hinges per door, you want them right. I'm sure internal doors (and of course cabinetry) are easier.

These hinges are no joke. I used 3 of these to hang a heavy 4'x7' door and had virtually no deflection at all. The motise is nice and deep and the action/tolerances are extremely tight. Comes with a paper template which makes installation a breeze - all you really need is a 1-1/8 bit and a sharp chizel. The only con is that it's a bit pricy, but once you see the quality and strength of the hinge you'll understand why.

Used on a bookcase door and it worked great. Very heavy duty. Make sure the thickness of material you are installing on is deep enough it’s a very deep unit.

Installed only 2 on a hideaway cabinet on rollers. Does a fantastic job on big wide custom built cabinet. Super happy and easy to install. I am a professional trim carpenter so was very easy to router and drill out holes to line up the hinges.

Very solid and strong and invisible when in place. Have to say that they do not move as freely as a normal hinge; we wanted to use a push/spring catch with this and having a little trouble finding ones which will push against the resistance offered by the hinges. Certainly very solid.
