JR-LEV-2 Jack Rapid Punch Down Tool for Leviton 61110 5G110 6110G

pro: tool works like a charm on 61110 keystones. cuts all the wires at one time and allows for immediate visual inspection. cons: while sturdy and will last a long time if taken care of.... it's made of plastic. I stepped on one while up on a skyjack and snapped the top assembly bracket. my fault and nothing against the tool but, metal or reinforced plastic might be a better idea. there is no replacement blade set for this item. apparently you do 500 jacks and then just get another one. and lastly, i heard clicking sounds coming from the tool every time I cycled it and it stopped cutting all the wires. I took the 4 screws out of the bottom of the tool and discovered 6 small pieces of cut wire had worked their way into the mechanism. I got them out but found that the tool is lubricated with a Vaseline type substance. after extracting the wires and replacing the lubricant the tool began functioning perfectly and.... no more clicking sound. Hope this helps someone. This really is a GREAT tool and a huge time saver.

If you are installing several jacks, this is a time saver. Much less frustration, no bloody knuckles, very fast termination. MAKE SURE you are using the correct jacks. The inserts on this tool are for Leviton 61110, 5G110, 6110G only. The jack's 110 terminals need to be on the back of the jack, versus on the top. Take a look at a Leviton 61110 to get a visual on what I mean. This is a great tool, and a time saver.

I have most of their tools for networking. I always wanted to get this to help punching down jacks a lot faster. I bought this specifically for a big project I had last year. It worked like a charm! Did not fail me and took a lot faster punching down the wires individually. I've dropped it several times now but it kept its form and still functioning as we speak.

Worth every penny

It’s useful. Bought it mainly for a closet For a job that’s going to come up to about 2,000 cables with Leviton high density panels. It works well but the metal that seats the cable into the pins are pretty soft. One of them bend every now and again even with proper placement but it bends back fairly well without any misshaping or breaking. Im pretty quick with a punch tool and this just cut the time in half. I do intend to buy the ortronics attachment soon.

Bought the JR-LEV-2 punch down for a large retermination project. Bought the extra cutter in case we needed it (didn't need it). The JR-LEV-2 cut our time down by at least 2/3's. Fluke is always "proud" (expensive) of their products, but it was well worth the investment. It was a bid job and we saved mucho time and money.

Fluke does make the best tools. And you pay for it. I should have bought it a day before when it was half the price.

Super quick to terminate Leviton jacks, makes the job much faster; the downside is that it is specific to Leviton jacks which are pricey (but high quality and reliable)

Yes it saves me time, but it is bulky and they make you buy two different models to crimp all the most common Leviton jacks. So $200+ vs a $30 110 punch down tool... Up to you!
