These things are amazing. I pulled on one as hard as I could on at the end of the rod and it barely moved. It maybe had 1mm of flex. I’m an engineer and these are the only brackets that make sense with respect to carrying a cantilever load. The only challenge is that you need to install them before you put on drywall (unless you want to patch a bunch of large holes). Also your studs need to be pretty straight, but if you wanted an easy project you would have done regular shelves not floating shelves.

We use these brackets for installing our mantle which is solid wood and very heavy. We mounted the brackets to our studs inside the wall. We did add a couple of screws through the wall directly into the mantle to keep it from sliding if it got bumped. I believe this should be suggested by the seller. We feel very confident that our mantle will not fall off the wall and that these brackets will not sag.

Love the product, wish that description would have detailed it was only one bracket, however. Item is well made and very sturdy. Waiting on second bracket to finish our outdoor fireplace mantle. It seems like it will definitely hold up!

Some damn good brackets. I gave 2 stars for ease of installation because you need to attach to the sides of the stud and that isn’t always easy. Also, the holes need to be accurate and a lay person would have trouble. That being, these are incredibly strong. If you can handle the install, look no further! Well done.
