Great drives. The drive can also be removed from the enclosure and can be used as a SATA III internal HDD as well incase anyone was wondering. **Q: Why are people commenting on face masks when the item is about bug zappers???** A: Let’s see, I never ordered this bug zapper. Glitch in the Matrix! lol **Q: Is this compatible with ps5?** A: These answers fail to mention a vital point: PS5 games cannot be played from the external drive. They can be saved, but need to be downloaded to the PS5 Console to allow you to play. PS4 games absolutely can be saved and played from the external drive & with a patch from 2022 you can format for PS5 Consoles to store games from either generation (PS4 & 5). Again, PS5 games are saved here simply to allow quicker download onto your console if let's say, like me, your internet is very slow...you avoid 7 hours to download a 35gb game, but you cannot play PS5 games from any external drive. Install an internal drive if that's what you want. **Q: what are these? would it make my older outdated laptop w/o an ssd able to play games that require an ssd?** A: To answer your question, no, this is not a solution to your issue, and I'll tell you why. The limiting factor here is the connection. While yes, it is super-fast (compared to older USB standards) it is nowhere near fast enough to compete with the BUS on your motherboard. So that external connection is not going to be able to compete with an SSD that's internally mounted on your motherboard. So, I wouldn't recommend playing games on either storage device in this external dock. If you want SSD performance then I would recommend installing it internally on your laptop, it's not that difficult. As an aside, while the previous response was extremely rude & unhelpful, he is correct that there is not and SSD requirement on any game I've seen. For some reason you cannot go wrong with this sleek, small, and darn impressive drive. If you are worried about ports like I was, then get a simple PS4 bridge and then plug the hub into into that directly. Bam, you have your drive directly connected and your PS4 is expanded to 3x as many ports than before. Do not let those dang mounts fool you. Just make your own stand and you can plug any portable hard drive in you like. In my case even though I carefully researched, my first was a hard nope and I still ended up with the better PS4 drive in the end.
