Paint Pouring: Mastering Fluid Art

Absolutely LOVE this book. It not only advises you on recommended supplies but advises you on the inexpensive alternatives to stay on a budget. Provides paint recipes and paint type ratios. Provides in depth descriptions of the different techniques and how to accomplish each one. There's even a section on how to create jewelry using the overpours from your paintings. The book includes how to dry, store, protect and sell your art. Also a section on how to do a resin finish. Not to mention it's loaded with helpful hints throughout the whole book. I cannot rave enough about this book, especially for beginners' or even someone experienced who wishes to learn a new technique or some awesome hints. I will definitely be looking into other books by Rick Cheadle. I highly recommend this book. It's a perfect tool and a must have.

I just wish he had more advice to give beginners on how to get larger cells but besides that I agree with most of what he says about the glue and the color depth. Thanks Mr. Cheadle

I am a newbie with paint pouring. There is so many types, and while utube offer thousands of great artist whom share tutorials. I knew it was/is so much more to learn. I couldn't afford to attend many of the live classes. I stumbled across this book and I am so glad I did. He explains so well answers questions which I had. It's worth every dime. It's therapy for me.

It has photos that accompany the instructions which are easy to follow and understand. Beginners need this!

EVERYthing you need to know about paint pouring. This book had it all: From buying supplies, to SELLING your finished project. Tons of info, lots of demo photos that you can actually see .... and ESPECIALLY lots of samples of his art at the back. BTW if you want to see the photos at a larger size, hold your finger on the picture till a pop-up window with ZOOM shows up and click on it. You will have the photo fill up the screen to see more detail.

I thought this book was an excellent reference for a beginning artist interested in fluid artistry ”how-tos”. I loved the photos and Rick’s explanations and descriptions. However, I lowered my rating for this book because I bought another book by Rick Cheadle sold here on Amazon, and under a *different* but admittedly similar name. I found it to be *identical* in every way exept for the annoying formatting in the other book. For those of you who buy a few books on topics you are researching, you won't need to purchase the book entitled ”Fluid Art Mastery: 8 Steps to Being a Paint Pouring Artist” if you purchase this one. And I do recommend this one for newbie pour artists, as it is very good. I just feel a little annoyed that I am having to return a book that is exactly the same as this one. Update: I have updated this review because I now have a bit more information under my belt and I don't feel that this book is as good as others available, whether for a beginner or someone with a bit of knowledge about fluid pouring. There are dozens and dozens of excellent YouTube videos for beginners out there, all for free, and all with clear and detailed step-by-step instructions. In about an hour I watched 6-7 basic videos (1 or 2 more than once) and got *FAR MORE* out of that than I did from reading this book. The videos provide detailed information including pouring recipes, tools, brand information, and the critical visuals that go far beyond this poorly written book. There are some very basic step-by-step directions, but detailed troubleshooting information is lacking, and several basic details are nearly absent from this book. For these reasons, I've downgraded this rating from 4 to 3 stars which is probably a little bit generous.

Enjoyed reading this and got alot of great information from it

Good, easy to understand the principles of Fluid Art. All one needs is this book, a canvas and a ton of paint to get going.

Ce livre relate l'histoire de certains artistes ayant exploité les techniques "Fluid Artists", le matériel, les techniques de base et plus, avec des dosages précis, des idées d'exploration des techniques. C'est le meilleur livre que j'ai eu l'occasion de lire sur le sujet. Complet, précis, avec des astuces et applications qui ouvre des perspectives de créativité. Je recommande vivement ce livre. Merci à l'auteur.

Read this from cover to cover as it arrived this afternoon.. brilliant. Cannot wait to get started tomorrow. Great ideas and completely easy to understand.
