I really like this product. I haven't used it in the real world yet but.... I know enough Spanish to play with it back & forth in English/Spanish. It translates pretty darn good and very quickly. I think it costs too much but if you're like me and need to translate, then the cost is not the primary issue.

Update after 1.5 years: I have to down-grade my review. After a year and a half of nearly perfect translating, I noted that the battery on the unit has started to swell to the point of forcing the rear cover off the unit. That alone would not cause me to down-grade my opinion...batteries fail. What causes me to downgrade my opinion is the customer service (or lack thereof) of Jarvisen. I am still within my two year warranty but getting them to even acknowledge any of my numerous communication attempts is impossible. They have no phone number and I have texted them and written on their website contact page several times. I did get one response when they asked for an address to setup an exchange. I provided that and since then (three weeks), crickets. I have emailed pleading with them to respond...NOTHING!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE for a great product. It's a shame!I never write reviews but I have to on this one. My Mother-In-Law has been visiting us from China and for the past month, we have not been able to have a coherent conversation without my wife present and doing her own version of translating. I have been using a free translate app from a very prominent provider but it was awful. I got this thinking that anything could be better but to my astonishment, our English/Chinese/English conversations have been translated near perfectly and in real time!! It's the best $470 I have spent in a long time. Now I am not merely an outsider in my family's conversations; I am an active participant. Awesome!!

I bought this translator to use while in Turkey, My first trip it worked great. 2 months later it would not obtain any mobile signal.I contacted technical support. Typical “make sure you have the latest update this has gone on 9 monthsI have been to turkey 5 times and the first trip was the only trip that it worked forThe only time it works is if I have wifi in the hotel.This translator when it works it does good. But cell coverage for my device is none existent in turkeyTechnical support is of absolutely no use. The only response that you get is make sure you have the latest update and then just silenceI have a 500 dollar brick

I am so unhappy right now because I've spent 4 months trying to get Jarvisen to deliver what they sold me which was a great translator device (if connected to wi-fi) that would activate or access the 4g global data network. Now that I have referred 6 of my friends to buy and none of them can use the global data network that they also purchased, how is AMAZON continuing to support and facilitate a fraud? So what? I get my money back. ok. but now i don't have this fast and accurate translator device which i like very much.btw, Jarvisen is unavailable for solution. I got more runaround from their product support people than i care to mention further.what Jarvisen / Amazon should do is buy every customer who has purchased this product a 3rd party unlimited global data network for 2 years because that is what is advertised. then someone would get their act together pretty quickly.btw, i attempted to access the global data network in San Diego, Phoenix, and Colorado. Still no success.I am a 15+ year prime member and i'm very unhappy right now.

In the beginning, the device worked great as long as there was internet capability. Sometimes I could use my phone's Bluetooth feature to connect to the internet. However, this did not last long and I would have to continually reconnect to the phone to the point it was annoying and I just did without the device. I tried contacting the customer service, but they don't provide phone service and I tried emailing them a little over a week ago and they still haven't responded. I bought two (one for my girlfriend and one for me) and we are both getting a little fed up with the devices inconsistencies and the lack of technical support.

Works well, accurate translation, easy to use, good tech and service support.

Great device if always on Wi-Fi. Does not connect to 4g/lte etc. as advertised. Emailed and attempted to contact customer support daily for 2 weeks. NO RESPONSE!
