"Hello, I have a Seiko kinetic watch and a Seiko automatic series 5 watch, would it work for both?"
Can someone describe the programming of the timer? Can it be programmed to shut down after X hours of operation and then re-start in Y hours ?

Better than higher priced units I have tried.

This unit worked better than higher priced units I have tried, and unlikely the spinning type, this unit works very well with my various Seiko watches. It is quiet and doesn't take a lot of space. Great value.

Cheap but Effective! (for me)

Works on my citizen watches, super quiet, no motor to burn out like cheap box-winders. I'm sure some watched won't work like other reviewers mention, but it served my needs perfectly, especially at this super cheap price!

Works When Properly Assembled

In my initial review of this watch winder, I gave it one star and said it did not work. That winder was returned, and I received a replacement today. I now believe the poor performance of the original was caused by my failure to properly assemble the two support brackets. If the two brackets are not pushed all the way into their support slots, the moving portion of the winder will not be properly supported by the two ball bearings. If the plastic shaft contacts the plastic support without benefit of the ball bearings, the friction is too high, and the winder does not work. However, if the brackets are properly supported so the rotating shaft is fully supported by the ball bearings, the winder works well.

Works well! Recommend!

Works well! Was not hard to assemble. Had a 20 year old Seiko Kinetic Auto-relay watch that I hadn't used in many years, was doing the 2 second jump meaning charging capacitor was not charging. Thought it was doomed, but put it on this for about 12 hours and is now working great!

No time to waste.

Never could get item to work. Tossed in trash.

This thing is awesome for kinetic watches but read the instructions

The media could not be loaded. This thing works great for a Seiko Coutura with a Kinetic movement I recently came to possess. This technology has been sort of phased out in favor of solar watches. I guess normal watch winders won't charge them up, before discovering this someone had said the only way to get it fully charged was to wear it for 6 weeks. It's also pretty quiet, its rhythmic sound is pretty much just coming from the sound of the rotor wheel inside of my watch. I could easily fall asleep with this right next to my head. The instructions are difficult to get through, because they're basically a wall of text in 4 different languages but they're important. Here are some things I had trouble with:1: the machine has the capacity for 2 watches but one side has a weight pre-installed. If you haven't added your watch, the weight will make the pendulum off balance during testing. The weight just sort of blends in but it's obvious which side it's on if you're paying attention.2: put the arms that hold the pendulum in so that the distance between the cradle is the shortest. That's going to be with the long tabs facing out.3: The machine has a timer, if you press the button 1 it turns on, 2x you just set it for an hour, you can do up to 12 presses to get it to a 12 hour time limit. Mine seems to stop after a few hours after just doing the 1x button, so it might be that there is a default time built in, I'm not quite sure, but regardless it has sufficiently recharged my Seiko to showing more than 1 month in reserve.

Delicate, but managed well works like a xharm

This contraption costs about ⅕ of a traditional wonderI need a winder because my wrist does not move enough to wind the watch. My Vostoc keeps excellence time if wound up properly. I love mechanical watches but this under winding has been a problem. Until now.First, position the device on a sturdy surface. The top of the A/C unit is NOT a good placeSecond, shim the base with some card stock to take out any and all shaking.Third, pay attention to the swinging carriage.leaving the dead weight alone, hang the watch on the other sideMake SURE the watch is centered in the clamp.Fourth, plug it into a USB source. The little RED LED should come on.Lastly, press the little button until the GREEN LED turns on.Make sure the carriage is free to swing, nothing rubs on nothingIf you want, replace the counterweight with a second watch. The little pamphlet says it all, with color pictures.Disadvantages; one - if the watch is not on your wrist, you cannot see the time. The setup is finicky. Don't drop the unit nor cook it, but even minute drag will stop it. But it works and is fascinating to watch.I have two units. They will not stop working unless something is dragging on something.

A decent value and looks like it will work for my Seiko Kinetic watch

Not bad for the price. Most of the device is plastic, but it does have metal bearings at the critical pivot points, and the plastic seems reasonably strong if the user is careful. The indicator lights show the selected setting for the timer, but aren't obvious without the instructions, and the instructions are only fair in quality. I believe the design will be effective in charging my Seiko Kinetic watch since it mimics the motion of the watch when it is worn on the owner's wrist. This winder isn't as quiet as another one I tried since the device leaves the watch exposed and the watch itself makes a gentle sound as the winding gears are engaged. The winder does have the ability to fit a good range of wristband diameters, and some extra pads are included to adapt it for users with larger wrists. Overall, I'd call it a decent, functional winder for the price.
