Are you a heavy metal fan? Then From Fear to Eternity by Iron Maiden is the right thing for you. The album which has 'The Best of 1990-2010' as its subtitle, is a collection of some of the magnetic creations by the band. No wonder, it created a rage among music lovers within a few days of its release. This powerful album was officially released on June 6, 2011 but the songs have all been recorded between the year 1990 and 2010. One will find it interesting to note that the album's title is inspired from the famous 1992 single, 'From Here to Eternity'. A compilation of tracks from a period, that heavy metal puritans choose to ignore, this is a mammoth collection of the most popular Iron Maiden tracks from the 1990s all the way to 2010. A list of songs meticulously selected from an era of transition for the band, these hits are meant to show some of their narrow minded critics, that they are still the best at what they do. Epic classics from their 2000 album Brave New World, like the 'The Wicker Man' with its haunting warning to the listeners and the beautifully arranged 'Blood Brothers' with its western classical overtures are featured on the CD. The title tracks from the 'Dance of Death' and 'Brave New World' have always been fan favourites. But the best is by far the Grammy nominated live rendition of 'Fear of the Dark' from the Rock in Rio gig.The album is spread out over two CDs but the good part is that the price is almost the same as that of a single disc record. Just like the band's previous album, all the songs in this album have been sung by Bruce Dickinson, while Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers have accompanied him on the guitar. There are 12 songs on Disc 1 and 11 on the other. It also includes songs like 'Holy Smoke', 'Man On The Edge', 'No More Lies', 'Coming Home' and 'Bring Your Daughter…to the Slaughter' among others.

Good collection but disappointed with the cd quality
Good collection of old and new Iron Maiden songs. However, I was not happy with the quality of the audio compact disc itself. The compact disc was scratched and it kept skipping on some of the tracks. Not happy about that.

Second part in a series
This is a two-disc Compilation Album of IRON MAIDEN. Maiden fans will surely appreciate the collection of songs. It contains a selection of songs originally released on the eight studio albums from 'No Prayer for the Dying' to 'The Final Frontier'. But beware! It doesn't contain the 1992 single, "From Here to Eternity".It kinda is the 2nd part in a 'Greatest Hits' series, with the first one being "Somewhere Back in Time". I will probably be buying that next.

so a good perspective for the latter releases(for me personally)
I have stopped buying Iron Maiden album releases after Fear of The dark(cassette tape back in the late 90's), so a good perspective for the latter releases(for me personally).

Highly recommended purchase
Another brilliant picture disc greatest hits from Iron Maiden. An excellent selection of songs on this compilation. My only criticism (and it's a very small one) is that I have all the Iron Maiden live vinyls, so I'd have preferred them to have all studio tracks instead of the live ones on this album.Perhaps it's just me!Would still 100% definitely recommend purchasing. I've even purchased it on cd for my car!!
