Good quality saw.

The saw is very good, no words on that. But, I am little disappointed with the jig / mitre box. The jig is made up of plastic and hollow. Do not know how long it can withstand the handling. Wish the material would have been solid filled instead of hollow design. The plastic body will get sawed with prolong use and some of the edges may even break with little rough handling. Black Decker, we expected a solid jig. May be increase the price and provide a metal casting body or solid ABS body

Firstly I would thank Stanley Black & Decker and Amazon for bringing this product for reasonable price. The saw box is made of high quality ABS plastic but it is light weight so you have to fasten it to workbench or something heavy base using screws. Also we need to be careful when securing materials using metal champs, as it may break the box if over tightened. I will be pouring cement inside it to make it solid and heavy. I do wooden projects using plywood and this box helps to cut small boards and frames at 90 or 45 degrees easily. It also helps to cut pvc pipes when secured properly. Saw is very sharp and cuts wood like a butter. I have even used it without saw box and able to cut straight. Very comfortable handle. Finally the product is VFM and it is must have for all handyman and carpenters.

Using this product for the last year or so. It looks good but leaves several things to be desired. First, the plastic is quite flimsy and gives way when pressure is applied. the edge of the saw eats into the vertical lines of the plastic, making the gap wider with each cut. so ultimately the precision needed vanishes from the cuts. There is no space to clamp this device to the bench, so cutting longer pieces becomes impossible. The saw is quite good and cuts well even after prolonged use, which is what prompted me to give a three-star rating. otherwise, the device itself is only two stars.

This is not for the professional since the hollow guide will not stand the rigors of hard use. But for the DIY enthusiast this is ideal and economical. The saw is extremely sharp and well made. It is sturdy and looks very durable. The box, however, is only made for light use. It is totally hollow from the inside so once you scrape out the grooves, there will be nothing left to guide the saw anymore. It is also very lightweight plastic. It tends to move around a lot with the movement of the saw and you need to either screw it down or use some kind of a G-Clamp jig to keep it steady. But for the price this is a very good deal. I recommend this for all DIYers.

The saw is ok. But I could not resolve how to make a long cut for example cutting a 4 feet piece of plyboard. The reason is the saw has a thick fold on the top edge which is thicker than the slit it makes. So it cannot pass through the cut. It's good for making small cuts though I didn't find it very sharp.

The plastic is too thin , probably useful to cut thermocol kind of stuff
